What we are gonna go through this year we should have started going through in 2021. The day Drew retired we should have blown it up. If we had we would be coming out the other end of a rebuild. It’s gonna be a long year and maybe a long 2-3 years. Embrace that t and we will draft high and come out the other side of salary cap hell and then we can use money for free agent missing pieces

More than 40 whatever preseason passes. Radical take around here.

you know, it's not exactly rocket science to take scouting reports, college game tape, reports from workouts, practice reports, NFL game tape, etc. and come to a logical, realistic conclusion...

the reality is Shough is as good/marginally better than Rattler... the unfortunate part is he has less time to get better than Rattler does, due to his age...

we spent the #40 pick on a guy who give us nothing more than what we get out of a 5th rounder... that's insane

He was not the pick we should have made there and we all thought it

Like this team could not have used pick 40 somewhere else considering we already have two erratic checkdown merchants at home? These guys are all setup to fail without better OL, WR, TE, which we should’ve used 40 on

so what is YOUR expectation, as far as Shough, as an NFL QB? where along the spectrum to expect him to fall, from trash/out of the league in 2-3 years, to HOF QB...

I don’t know. And neither do you. It’s ok to wait and see.

A lot of people thought Josh Rosen was can’t miss and Josh Allen was a terrible reach. Even Trevor Lawrence, billed as “generational”…he’s kind mid.

go find me ANYONE saying that...

and yes, it's all a crap shoot, i get that... but this guy has NEVER been a great QB, at any level... HS, wasn't dominant, and in fact the year he became the varsity starter, his HS team had their worst record in their history at 7-5... we all know what he did (or really DIDN'T do) in college...

we saw his workouts before the draft... we know what the scouting reports are... we've seen him in games, so far... i just don't see how you, or anyone, thinks this guy is going to all of a sudden become BETTER vs. the best competition he's ever faced...

ugh. i cannot argue any of that

like we said just get a placeholder after brees until we can draft our QB. nope we had to get carr delaying inevitable rebuild. did moore really think SHUCK would be the future?

i guess anything can happen but i think shuck may be 3 years in league and done.

oh, i'd put good money on that... given his age, and that he'll get limit time to even show he's back up material, he just won't have many opportunities to solidify a back up role in this league... he's got a very uphill battle to have a viable career path in this league

Daniel Jeremiah comped him to Eli Manning. Dane Brugler called him a franchise QB.

Oh don’t get me wrong, I wanted to use that pick for literally any other position

that's great... i didn't, and clearly still don't, share that opinion of him...

again, he NEVER stood out in college... didn't put up any notable stats, didn't earn any accolades, nothing... he was a very slightly above average starting QB... his workouts, pre-draft, were just average... his game tape backs up the scouting reports of him having a big arm, but lacks consistency and gets very antsy in the pocket, leading to turnovers...

the fact that he's not separating himself from Rattler in practice reports, and from what we can see in preseason games, IMO, shows he doesn't offer anything that Rattler doesn't offer...

in the end, we will have wasted an opportunity to get better another spot by taking Shough vs. just rolling with Rattler and using #40 on someone else...

we seem to have hit on some of our other picks, just imagine if we just would have been realistic about this upcoming season, decided to roll with Rattler, and use #40 on Mason Taylor or Will Johnson....

Neither of these guys have a prayer with the all time bad WR/TE room we have assembled.

it certainly doesn't help, that's for sure, but i just don't think either of them are very good QBs... Rattler has a bit more upside, but his ceiling, IMO, is career backup.... he has a longer runway, however, than Shough b/c of his age...
