I can't help but remember what happened last time a backup QB from NOLA went to Carolina

Brooks shoulder was fricking done Jake's last season here and Haslett wouldn't sit him. Only needed to win one game the last 4 to get in the playoffs and they lost all 4. Then brooks immediately has off-season shoulder surgery and Jake takes Carolina to the superbowl the next season.

What a time to be a saints fan.

Was he even that good that year. As I recall, they just needed a half-way competent QB (step above game manager) to not screw up the running game and defense.

Haslett was such a POS..Lied about Brooks' injury and let Delhomme walk.. "Why should I put a Sergeant out on the field when I have a General"..Yeah general garbage...

I usually find myself defending Brooks on here. So this is almost refreshing. That being said, Brooks was a major problem. The defense was average. Brooks was just so bad for 3 1/2 quarters that it didn’t matter.

Jake is a fricking legend in Carolina, too. My sister lives there and is married to a huge Panthers fan. They talk about Jake almost like we talk about Drew.

Jim Hasslett was the real problem when he told Aaron Brooks to stop being a running QB after he came in for Blake.

They ruined what he did best in one off-season

They do love Jake in Carolina.

God Bless him...he really loves Breaux Bridge...but I would take literally anywhere in W NC over anywhere in LA any day of the week.

Delhomme did some color commentary for the Panthers radio broadcasts last year. (The home games & @ NOLA & Houston)

He’s a big deal there, they simply don’t have that much history.

The Carolina franchise is half the age of the Saints.

And Sam Mills is the penultimate Panther veteran, think like Archie Manning for us except no longer alive.

Jake is a great guy, lives in the Lafayette area and loves to tinker with his race horses.

Nicest person and most humble guy you ever want to meet.

Showed what a Louisiana guy could do..in the NFL

19 tds, 16 picks, 3200 yards and a 59% completion percentage... So not very good, especially compared to Brooks that year (59%, 3500 yards, 24 tds, 8 picks)
