Let me start off by saying that I have no problem with thinking about the Saints every minute of every day, but I’ve been having a lot more nervous energy this week even compared to last week. Im a nervous fricking wreck while sitting at work. I can’t focus without thinking about the game at some point or another.

Was anyone else a worthless piece of shite this week?
Im off tomorrow which is why I am up right now with liquor in me, but I just dont feel very good mentally.

The anxiety leading up to a playoff game is a curse followed by a blessing.

I'm in the same boat. I can't stop thinking about this game.

It has gotten so bad, today I broke down yards per play numbers for the Rams offense based upon when Cooper Kupp was on the field vs when he wasn't/injured. Thought about posting them here... but had to pry myself away. It is starting to get bad.

I haven't done shite all week.

I'm going to have to pound some beers Sunday to keep me sane and to keep the BP down.

I'm really nervous this week. I truly thinks it's a toss up game. I feel like the defense will make enough plays though and brees finds a way. I'm def a homer though.

I'm actually pretty Zen about this game compared to the last. I was dreaded going one and done like some of those other bitch teams.
Even if we do drop this hame, while disappointed, I would sleep at night knowing we had a great season and made it all the way to our conference championship.

I'm a guy who believes the NFL is an entertainment-first, for-profit business and claimed such in a court case several decades ago and that sets narratives for the most lucrative outcomes.

That's why I'm nervous about this game.

There are several potential narratives or storylines that would be great for a Super Bowl matchup.

1. The obvious one...
Saints vs Patriots - final showdown between two GOATS, Brees vs Brady.

2. Saints vs Chiefs - Young Gun Mahomes vs Old Head Brees

3. Rams vs. Patriots - New media darling vs old media darling. The NFL has been dying to get that #2 TV market involved with an NFL franchise. It could be too tempting not to get them a Superbowl appearance when they're this close and help build and solidify a fanbase that's waffled for decades

4. Rams vs Chiefs - the future of the NFL and the two new kids on the block, duke it out in a made-for-tv high-scoring shootout. Welcome to the future of pro football.

I think the most desirable scenarios for the NFL and the TV networks is #1, #3 & #4. Two of those three outcomes don't include the Saints. That's why I'm nervous. Luckily, the one outcome that does include the Saints is probably the most desired. But you have to remember that the last thing Rodger Goodell wants to do is hand the Super Bowl trophy to Sean Payton. That's why my prediction is that it's going to be a Saints Patriots Super Bowl and Rodger Goodell is going to begrudgingly hand the Super Bowl trophy to Tom Brady and I'm going to cry for a week straight.

I kinda get tired of this. He doesn't give a shite. He handed it to Kraft and that was much worse and uglier.

ETA - not trying to be mean. Same blood same team!

Maybe, maybe not. It depends on how fickle he is. I don't really know, to be honest. I do know that just recently Sean Payton ripped the bandage off the old bountygate wound in an interview that was fairly popular and got a little bit of media coverage.

Yeah, I don't know about that. Bountygate was pretty fricking bad and there was a lot of hostility. I mean, the commissioner of the NFL basically sacrificed a franchise in the middle of their most successful run in their history just to manipulate public perception in the event of a possible future lawsuit. To me, that's more outrageous than busting a team for actually cheating and creating a real competitive advantage by deflating balls and spying on opposing teams.
