Not saying Carr is Brees by no means. Just curious how much hate would’ve been on here? Plenty if I had to guess.

Well Derek Carr’s average yearly stats while with the Raiders are 62% completion percentage, 2469 yds, 16 td, 10.6 ints, 84.9 rating. It’s easy to see why Saints fans are up in arms, clearly an unacceptable qb choice.

Wait a second, those are Brees’ stats with the Chargers.

Carr’s average yearly stats with the Raiders: 64.6% completion percentage, 3914 yds, 24.1 TD, 11 int, 91.8 passer rating.

Brees was a Free Agent.

Carr would cost us a 3rd or 4th Rounder.

Completely different situation.

Carr is not Brees and he’s had plenty of time to prove himself. And again Brees was free.

Oh and in the 4th Round of the 2006 Draft we drafted Jahri Evans for those people who think Carr is automatically worth more than our mid round pick

If Carr is coming here for free, sign me up. Happy to have him sign honestly. He’s a good QB. If it’s going to cost more than a 6th or 7th rounder then LV can pound sand

Too short. Unfortunately, he tore his shoulder to shite. Popgun arm. Injury prone. Not a franchise QB. He's a phony. Lacks athletic ability. Not mobile enough. Too white and Christian. He's just flat out a midget. Lacks leadership skills. Poor work ethic. His wife is not a fashion model. He's not cerebral enough. Purdue and the Big Ten sucks.

I was excited when we got Brees and drafted Reggie (when the Texans drafted some DL). Bill Parcells said if you can get Brees, get him. I knew it was a risk, but a low risk at that. He didn’t cost them a fortune at the time. Matt Leinart did nothing for me.

I remember thinking we stole an above average game manager with potential to exceed Aaron Brooks here, so long as his shoulder healed properly. Well, I was wrong, in a good way.

We only got Brees because Saban wanted Dante Culpepper. And I remember most of the fans being upset we didn’t land Culpepper.

I was excited.

I didn’t think he would end up being as great as he was, but I knew he would be good.

Coming off the Katrina year, I was surprised we got him instead of Saban, obviously not knowing much about Payton at the time.

I remember wanting Young initially, but was very excited once we had both Brees and Reggie. It was a risk, but he was a big step up at QB for us where we’d been dreadful for years so I was hopeful.
