Nielsen as DL coach and Nolan as LB coach speaks for itself. But what about Curtis Johnson back at the WRs after being with us from 06-11?

Obviously the job Payton and Ireland have done can't be understated and the players themselves have played their asses off, but for a long time Vitt, Johnson and company were weighing us down.

Maybe the most underrated part of the change in the team so far?

Nolan has been a godsend and Nielsen is making our players play like their 1st round talent and more.

Mental breakdowns are decreased but most importantly the coaching on the sideline is visibly there.

That and the last two drafts were everything.

They may have been the most important thing. I know that’s a bold statement considering Lattimore and Kamara, but that was a huge problem.

One of the biggest moves we made in the offseason.

He has been invaluable.

don't forget ousting McMahon too. Saints STs improve, LSU diminishes. Coincidence?

New personnel w Klein, Teo, Anzalone doesnt hurt. Robertson was the only remaining guy and he wasnt really the problem.

I felt like that would be a big difference coming into the season.

after the first 2 games.. not so much.

its all about timing and I'm glad the Saints got it together when they did.

The D-line finally wised up and started swatting at passes more often. Attention to detail.

the coaching staff just seems to be on the same page. Good complementary football lately

The second biggest signing this offseason will be to resign Jeff Ireland to a new contract. I think he is in the last year of his contract.

Yeah nielsen was known at nc state for making nobodies play super hard. Think that's why the swatting passes has been so noticeable.
Bill Johnson just mailed it in and we don't even ybqve to get into joe vitt.
Mike Nolan is well respected for years as a dc
