Is it first come, first served?

How were the Cowboys the first team to talk to La’El Colins and offer him a deal back in 2016?

They pick where they want. It’s a free for all. We are attractive because we generally give all players equal opportunities no matter if you were drafted or not.

Yeah as said basically anyone can talk to anyone. That's why you prioritize your calls. We are attractive because of our history of giving guys a legit shot to make the team.

That said top guys aren't going to want to go to a team that's stacked at their position. We aren't likely to see top udfa tes come here for instance.

And every team has a pool of bonus money to dole out (all teams have the same amount) you can offer it how you want (all on one player, spread equal, more on some and less on others, or not use it at all if you don't want too).

We used to call this razoo.

Teams lay the ground work with agents in the event their clients are not drafted. The players and agents look at the depth chart and decide where they have the best fit.

Saints have reputation of being very fair in giving free agents opportunities during the Payton and Loomis era. Remember Pierre Thomas beating out the fourth round pick in The first Payton camp.

Parcels taught Payton well on this...”doesn’t matter how they got there”

Still hard to put those biases away

He wanted to play for them and specifically said it was them or nobody I believe.

Couldn't remember his name but we will never forget Pierre Thomas. All he did was make plays.

Like others said. I always look forward to watching the signings. Saints seem to always find a diamond in the rough, or at least the yearly Camp Beast.

We got Granderson and Tuttle last year alone. I expect Granderson to take a big step up (similar but not as much as Galette) and Tuttle was already getting a good amount of snaps last year and playing well.

its an open market where the players can sign with any team they want so the players choose which teams give them the best chance to make the team at their position

its not easy to get another team to sign you if you pick a team and you dont make it so teams like us who are done a day early can and will spend all day creating their wish lists including the guys they dont expect to get drafted as well as 6th and 7th rounders who may miss getting drafted

its going to be a very good year to get some great guys as UDFA since teams didnt get as much pre draft time to interview guys so any with question marks may go undrafted as teams take the better known guys

Yep!

I was hoping Lil Humphries would break through but I guess his lack of speed just did not work. He had some interesting catches last year in preseason.

Jerry Jones broke the spirit of the rules if not the rules themselves and promised him a huge payday as soon as possible. Still cannot believe some team did no take him at lest by day 3, but it would not surprise that image conscious league officials pressured teams to not drat him.
