and AJ Klein as his backup?

I thought Teo looked good once he started playing. The guy just turned 27 in January so he's still young. I'd be comfortable with Teo as the Mike, Anzalone, if he can stay healthy, at one OLB spot and upgrade the other through the draft. Craig Robertson is good depth who can play all 3 positions.

Thoughts?

Wasn't klein playing the Will lb on first and second down before injury?

Teo over Klein? I thought Klein was clearly the better player but I do like the depth Teo provides.

Just depends. If we upgrade the D line I think he'd be more than serviceable. I guess I'd rather spend the money there and role with Teo and Klein.

Will or Sam, though I think they signed him with the thought that he'd be a Mike.

Interesting. I thought I remembered reading that Klein was one of the lowest rated starting LB's on PFF last year.

He got shifted to Sam in "base" sets, but played Mike in Nickel. Robertson was playing Will in "base" sets with Te'o at Mike.

When Klein went down Te'o played Mike full time with Robertson at Will.

He was, but don't take it as gospel. I thought he played better than his pff grade but I still think Te'o outplayed him.

Klein was good against the run but a liability against the pass (Te'o is a bit too, but overall was better than Klein in coverage). He also wasn't that good blitzing.

Te'o just seemed to make plays every game, whereas Klein seems like a slightly better Lofton.

You have some kind of problem with Klein? The guy played great last year. Better than Teo.

Teo was a stud, but people can't get past the catfishing incident to take him seriously.

He made some plays but but let's be real here. He missed some plays too. Klein was better at the mike. He's an upgrade from Teo and way better than what we've had lately. I give a lot of that credit to Mike Nolan though. Amazing what happens when you fire the curtail-riding bum and hire a real coach.

No. My memory may be fuzzy, but I thought Teo was starting at the Mike when Klein went down. I seem to recall Klein starting at Sam.

I want Devin White next year. If there was an LSU player the Saints can't miss, its 40

Teo was better than Klein. If we don't draft or sign a replacement, I think Teo starts at MLB with Kelin playing SLB and shifting to Mike in Nickel.

That's exactly what we did last year when they were both healthy. Te'o is better in the run and Klein is better in the pass even though that isn't saying much at all. Klein had some very bad games last year, but he is the smarts of the defense and we played well overall when he was in the game most of the time. Problem with Klein is that he is slow af.
