How are we not better just letting 7 run at QB1?

Carr panics immediately. Wth

In the red zone, Hill should be the QB. Last night I would’ve felt more comfortable inside the 10 on the last drive with Taysom and Alvin in the backfield and Carr on the bench.

Taysoms problem is that he cant be the starting QB for 4 games in a row because he plays way too physical.
But there's no reason why he cant be your go to QB inside the 10.

well that's just not correct. Taysom can tone down the contact a bit being qb 1 but sorry, there's plenty of qb's getting the job done out there with mobility of power and throwing. taysom is a better leader, knows offense better, frick probably throws 3x's the better passes carr is right now.

I agree 100%. Just let Taysom handle the 20s and Carr can take everything else.

I agree with your statement with what he can do. The problem is when he is the QB, the gameplan changes and does not let him play to his full potential. Actually takes away some of his effectiveness.

maybe but in a vaccuum, Taysom hill can be a better derek carr than derek carr is a derek carr.

on another note, he made some nice catches on poorly thrown balls out there last night

He's been fairly solid catching passes this year, surprisingly

His biggest problem is lack of processing speed and decision-making. He can't read Ds or make quick decisions.
that's why he's never been a real QB

Its not like Carr processing speed and decision making is soooo much better than Taysom. At this point, Taysom’s ability to run might be better than Carr’s slight advantage in processing speed.

The saints coaching staff is a bunch of 2020 Ed orgeron’s. Please accept the saints are back to mediocrity

Another problem is that when he was QB1 Pete had him running under center hard play action instead of always being in the gun/pistol running RPOs like Lamar and Hurts who aren’t exactly football geniuses either.

I would prefer T7 the starter period.

Carr's DM is significantly better/faster than Taysom
Hill sucks arse as a QB
We played Hill as a starting QB in the past. He was not good.

Chad, why has he never played a real QB role, even at BYU?
Because of his impressive brain and decision-making? Or, is playing as a glorified RB his entire career more an indication of his inability to process or read defenses?

Wait, you're arguing that Hurts/Lamar run significantly more RPOs than a normal offense?
And Hurts/Lamar are in different universes at reading Ds and throwing compared to Taysom.

Carr’s processing speed isn’t any better than Taysom’s. Taysom at least keeps D having to watch for him taking off running. In all honesty it doesn’t matter who our QB is with this coaching staff.

Taysom does extremely well in certain situations and reads. He’s very severely underrated by simpletons like sfp.
