He's going to be the Saints' version of Nick Saban, isn't he?

I'm in a "high" state of sadness right now and I just have to ask, he's going to the Cowboys isn't he? And he's going to be stupidly successful there, isn't he? Feel free to admin delete this later because idk.. this shite sucks more the longer I dwell on it. Not the strain, but the news.

Just hope he ends up in the AFC

The fear of constantly comparing ourselves to others and being compared to others is this generations greatest disease. People want to act like social media is the problem but in reality; it's the constant comparison and feeling inadequate with other peoples successes.
LSU won two titles since Saban has been at Alabama. If the Saints win two Super Bowls while Payton is coaching the Cowboys and you people still arent happy, you never will be.

16 years is a long time in one place for a coach. The Saints can build on the culture he left with the right hire and be just fine. I think Payton def coaches again but not in Dallas. Jerry will not give him the control he wants. If Jerry passes, I could see Sean working for Jerry's son.

He has the same resume as Mike McCarthy and the Cowboys are ready to run him out on a rail. Why are you people so afraid now that he’s gone?

He's not going to the Falcons

What a horrible analogy.

You do realize he is under contract for 3 years...
If he is going to coach, it will be for the saints. He could get traded however but I'm sure we would get great value for him

See I'd be perfectly fine with the Giants and even cheer for him (except vs Saints or anything affecting the Saints) but there's clearly not legions of Giants fans infecting every orifice of the South like there is with the Cowboys

He won 1 Super Bowl with Drew Brees but suddenly he’s going to win 3-4 with Dak Prescott

He's gonna be our Ditka.
Ditka in reverse.
Ditka in reverse.

He can do what he wants, but I will hate his fricking guts if he coaches the Cowboys or Falcons

This. When Saban came to LSU it was known that LSU was a stepping stone to the NFL. Fans accepted that fact when he got there. Then when he left, it was the end of the world (probably more to do w how he left). He goes to the NFL and failed miserably and realized he wouldn’t have the control he wanted (GM, team Drs, players have more say…). He wanted back in college and Bama happens to have an opportunity.
Saints weren’t a stepping stone for a bigger league. He’s burnt out, maybe worried he can’t do it without Brees, wants a change in scenery (we all do this)…

In 2007 the LSU Alabama rivalry wasn’t even hardly in existence. There’s some history there but for all intents and purposes, it was dead.
If Saban returned to the SEC as the head coach at Florida or Auburn that might be a little closer of an analogy but Saban to Alabama and Payton to the Cowboys are a lot like.
Saints fans are envious of the Cowboys and the historical significance much like LSU fans are envious of Alabama‘s historical relevance and significance both neither are the greatest historical rival of either LSU or the Saints
