Seems unusual that he's not signed yet with the tiered pay scale there can'T be that much to negotiate.

It’s actually not unusual and has been happening with 2nd round picks since the last CBA was approved. Most 2nds have not yet signed. Has to do with offset language. Foskey is with the team, participating.

Underhill explained it in a pod a couple weeks ago. Once the other second round picks sign, they’ll cave

2nd round picks are always the last to sign. They aren’t slotted by 1st rounders. The team angles to get a 5th year, and the player tries to get a 3yr deal.

Just read an article and they hinted to that as well. 1st 2 years is automatically guaranteed, so they are negotiating years 3 and 4. A player drafted a few spots ahead in him for year 3 guaranteed and $100k in year 4
