And that's fine. We will see on the Monday after when ratings come out. I'll eat crow if it happens.

I haven’t missed a Super Bowl in probably 35 years, and I either attended or hosted parties probably every single one of those years.

I’m over it now. I didn’t watch the AFC Championship, and I’ll make other plans for SB Sunday. Not a melt, just a fact. Today I could no longer deny that pro football stopped being an actual sport somewhere along the line, and I have better things to do with my time and energy than get all worked up over something that has very little impact on my everyday life.

Yeah. I know what you mean. Ratings dropping by one person or starting with one person really doesn’t do anything.

Tell me again which team Colin Kapernick plays for?

Won’t be watching. I started with ignoring the afc title game.

To confirm, you think the Super Bowl which gets nearly 100 million viewers will see a loss in ratings because Harry Connick Jr said he won't watch?

A player pissing off the segment of the population responsible for electing the president =/= a ref screwing a small market team.

That's fair. Similar to the 1/9/12 effect.

What happened sucked but seriously, this is entering into Vikings fans after the 2009 NFC Championship game territory.

If Roger even looks at that (highly unlikely) he'll just chuckle and pass it around a bit before deleting it.

SB is going to get ratings world wide no matter what.

It's a spectacle and some hundred thousands or a few million rolling out this year is inconsequential. For this year.

NFL is a revenue maxing business, but they are not immune to swings. I hope you would see the NFL reaction to protests, kneeling, etc.

NFL is reactionary to protect it's interests. But there is a point of demarcation somewhere. I don't mean to say NFL going away, but they are very aware of anything anti-NFL.

That was nationwide. The saints are not a team that will make this issue nationwide.

If this happened to the cowboys, you might see a blip in the ratings, but not likely. Like you said, the SB will get its ratings.

My bad.

He said ratings won't drop because Harry Connick said he won't watch, and you replied to that post saying you thought he was off.

Get a grip, dude.

Figure out what the real priorities in life are. Wishing death upon someone's spouse because of posts about a football game is ridiculous.

Yeah, you're right, I apologize. I hope your family lives forever, and you stop with the friction enabling posts; then post about beer that I haven't sampled yet. Hey, why not wish for it all!?

You must be like 15. One day, you'll grow up and football losses won't be the end of the world and you won't wish death upon random internet posters' families.

It'll be okay.

Maybe my overall thought is that. What is now - isn't necessarily the future. The NFL has real issues. For me, this Superbowl is a huge * for credibility and integrity.

NFL has other issues as well. I put that out because it's a meaningful as well too IMO.

Trust me, I ain't here to fight or argue against good opinions.
