Yeah, it is a really good article. This kid has a good head on his shoulders and always seeks to improve. Gotta love that.

I am not surprised that Sean Payton fell in love with him.

Great article, I think we got something special with this kid.

Weaknesses Size is just adequate -- is small-framed and lacks ideal length and bulk. Vulnerable to the jam and reroute. Relatively small catch radius. Has small hands and double-catches some throws. Lacks elite, blazing speed to run by NFL corners and safeties. Will struggle to play "above the rim" at the next level. Was not an impactful punt returner. Limited run strength. Poor blocker.

I'm not ecstatic about the pick, but not many 4.33 guys lack elite speed.

Yeah guy running 4.33 and they say he lacks elite speed to run by NFL defenders?

Doesn't make much sense.

It also makes zero sense when you watch ANY of his highlights.

I mean the guy looks like he is running slow because he is extremely smooth in his stride(I think he tied a combine record for least strides in the 40 with Calvin fricking Johnson), but then you watch the guys he's running by and it's just WOW!

Sweet frick, I just don't even know what to say about that. How does the person writing that have a job evaluating talent if that's what he/she comes up with after watching Cooks play football?

He's probably studying our playbook right now.

During my drive home I often listen to "Moving the Chains" on Sirius NFL. Pat Kirwin was very high on Cooks, and one comment he made a few weeks ago was that with so many teams looking to get those big corners, one way to counter that is with things you can't teach: speed and quickness.

Seattle's corners can't maul you if they can't touch you...

Okay, that was an awesome article. He puts work like that in here, and NOLA is going to love him. Kenny V lit a fire in the vets on defense last year. Hopefully Cooks can do the same for the offense this year.

I've got a feeling this is going to be a special year.

That's a very good point and I'm glad some people agree with me on that. You aren't going to out-physical them, you have to out-quick them.

bump for those just waking up to Cooks

Lengthy but great must-read. The more I'm knowing about the intangibles of this guy, the more I like.

Not just a super fast athlete but a uber hard worker devoted to his craft. Payton said he blew them away in interviews with his football smarts and attitude.

Yeah knew nothing about the kid until I just read the article. Seems like a class act. It think he makes an impact right away, and sparks some fire under the vets as well.
