JFC! If he wouldn’t have made that interception, the receiver was actually in front of the other DB. There’s a chance he could have gotten to it. He made the INT like he’s taught to do. Good for him. Piss off.

No. They're generally taught to knock the ball down rather than intercept it, unless they are confident they can secure the interception and gain some significant return yardage. And especially on fourth down with a deep pass, db's are actually taught to prioritize a pass breakup over an interception
Because a well-executed pass breakup is safer than attempting an interception,.....especially in tight coverage...... The risk of a receiver catching the ball exists regardless, but knocking it down avoids the risk of a bobbled/missed interception that results in a catch. So literally the opposite
