In 64 career games (38 starts), Maddox totaled 245 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, 31 pass deflections, four interceptions, three sacks, eight forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery. He's also played in seven playoff games with the team since being drafted in the fourth round out of Pittsburgh. Maddox moved to nickel cornerback in 2019, went back to the outside in 2020, and moved inside again in 2021. In that year, he established himself as one of the league's best nickel cornerbacks, grading out as a Top 20 overall cornerback by Pro Football Focus and earning a contract extension.

This past year, Maddox battled back from a pectoral injury suffered in Week 2 to return for the final two regular-season games and the playoffs. He had 12 tackles, two pass deflections, and a forced fumble in the regular season.

I don't know the guy, but that sounds promising. Also interesting that the first move we know of is a CB.

Very interesting. Wonder if this has any implications on what happens with Lattimore

A couple of CB's I hope we continue to develop and hoping for a good camp from these two.

Faion Hicks a sub 4.4 man to man guy. Issue is not a special teamer at Whisky.

Rejzohn Wright OSU big and tall corner. 6'2" 195. Another outside man to man guy. Penalties and a little handsy. Not a lot of top level playing time. His comparison was to PJ Williams.

Alontae to the outside
I don't have a subscription to PFF, but I wonder what Alontae's grade has been inside vs outside. It seems to me he's much better inside.

I think it's the opposite. He got benched because of his inside play

a. We already know Lattimore has 1 foot out the door

b. This is a slot/NB guy, which was a problem last year. All of our CBs are boundary guys. Even if the miracle happens and we keep Latt, we still have a hole a NB.

This could be a hedge against Adebo commanding top money next season as well. With Lattimore, you have already paid him so much of his money that he is actually a pretty cheap CB for his stature in the next 3 seasons.

if he signs it means latt trade is teed up and boundary corners would be adebo/taylor with maddox nickel

not sure how i feel about that but what are we to do

We don’t. But if it’s untenable to keep him due to non-football reasons (he’s disgruntled), this signing may be indication of that

Very small DB who has battled a lot of injuries and flipped back and forth in and out of the slot. Pass.
