The man has been the one steady force on this team for 11 years, and still produces at a high level with the bare minumum arsenal. He absolutely deserves whatever he can get.

Nobody's faulting him the money. There was a perception team-wide until last year that nobody gave a shite about winning. And that's a reflection on the leader. And Drew did seem to care a lot more about Jimmy Johns/Advocare/Pepsi/Nyquil/Walk On's/Ellen than he did about a winning season.
Last year's revival won a lot of those people over.

This is the best deal ever for the Saints.
Drew could've very easily made a ton more money as a FA.
Minnesota was holding off on KC just on the off chance they could've maybe got Drew. The Broncos are to crappy for him to go to, and they play outside. NY is too much off a hassle.
Minnesota has plenty of money, a great D and they play indoors. They wanted Drew badly and would've have over-compensated him.
The Saints are lucky they have a man of integrity as their QB.
A legit "Thanks Saban".

So what do the other teams do who pay QB's what they are worth?
In recent years the Saints haven't had the supporting staff they have needed due to some poor free agent and draft choices. Thankfully we are not in the boat anymore.

For years this team has struggled to put a team around Drew, whether it be whiffing on free agents or the constant busts we've picked up through drafts so I don't fault Drew at all for the money. What's sad is how many people seem to have no real grasp just how fricking good Drew is. If the Saints ever gave this guy a legit defense, he'd have made us a dynasty.

Well this is just false. We were a fluke play away from playing in the NFC CG with half our team injured. Now that we don't have like $40 mil going to players not even on the roster (which was always our real problem, it was never the 1st ballot HOFer that continued to produce at an elite level getting what he was due) we can afford to pay Drew what he deserves and sign other players...plus, you know, what we already have plus we can start out healthy again.
I'm tired of seeing that Drew needs to sign for peanuts for the betterment of the team. The best dudes on the team deserve the most money and we can pay him and others what they're worth. Pay the fricking man. Hell, build a statue and name a street after the guy while you're at it.
