re: For all the “fans” suddenly hating Brees

I don't see everybody hating Drew. I see a bunch of people, rightly, pointing out that his game is limited now to passes under 35 yards. Beyond that his accuracy and arm strength starts to really fall off.
That's just part of getting old. It's up to Sean to adjust the game plan accordingly but it really limits your success when you can't stretch the field vertically. It allows the safeties to creep up and play the dink and dunk passes. Now when Kamara gets the little swing out pass in the flat, guys come flying up and make the tackle immediately.
It's the same problem the saints were bumping up against when they lost Jimmy Graham. They had no deep threat to draw the safeties out of the run plays and the short passes. Ginn was able to fill that role for a few years but father time is kicking his arse too.
Sean Payton's offense is all about scheming guys open using formation and route combinations but it relies on having a consistent deep threat that can stretch the field vertically like a Robert Meachem, Devery Henderson, Jimmy Graham, Ted Ginn, Etc.
He hasn't had the right combination of receivers in his receiving corps for a while now. His offense is most effective when he has a vertical burner to stretch the field along the sidelines, a pass-catching tight end to stretch the middle of the field, a couple good possession receivers for the short-to-medium stuff and a running back with reliable hands to take advantage of linebackers in space.
None of these guys have to be all Pros but he needs one of each specific skill-set. Think when he had Devery Henderson and Robert Meachem , Jimmy Graham, Marcus Colston and Lance Moore, Darren Sproles and Pierre Thomas.

He wanted to throw it but Michael Thomas ran the wrong route
That's true. But, that doesn't account for the fumble...just the sack. QBs need to protect the ball. It's QB 101. That wasn't a hit he didn't feel.

The people bashing Brees must have missed the three quarters of the offensive line getting dominated.
Thank you! When I came here after the game I felt like I was the only one here who watched it. Couldnt believe all the Drew bashing. He did not have a good game, but that was a direct effect of the Oline playing like horseshite. I cant even recall them ever getting that manhandled that badly in the entire Payton-Brees era. It was pathetic.

Actually it's still open for 2020 since a lot of our key players are still on rookie contracts. Drew was good enough this year but he needs way more help than the team is giving him, much like Elway needed it on the back end of his career. He's not the old Drew that could turn chicken shite into chicken salad with the group of guys he has. They need a few more studs on offense to help him.
Alvin Kamara playing like trash did him no favors either.

our offense is limited to withing 30 yards of the line of scrimmage
This is it. The Vikings compressed everything as well and that's why the ball wasn't coming out on time per usual with Drew. SP knew it and that's why Taysom came in with the bomb.

Not many people hating. People are saying he is not what he once was
