If he wins the Super Bowl next year for the Saints I bet you will be the first ones on your knees praising him. Or maybe you’d continue to be your idiotic selves and find something to bitch about because misery is the only thing that gives you pleasure.

The people bashing Brees must have missed the three quarters of the offensive line getting dominated.

Not many people hating. People are saying he is not what he once was (oh how rude & mean), and are pointing out the fact that our offense is limited to withing 30 yards of the line of scrimmage with him. And I have not even mentioned his salary yet that you have to take into account.

Yesterday he had a bad game. The OL had a worse game, specifically the first half. No WR2 also showed it's ugly head again. But when the QB's arm isn't great, and he's got 40 year old legs in the pocket, you have to ask yourself how much $$ is that QB worth if you have to have all other things go good in order for him to be great. He could do that in his prime, but his prime ended about 3 years ago.

I think Brees missed the boat on his second super bowl. 3 years in a row of crushing losses in the playoffs. If it hasn't happened with these teams 3 years in a row I don't see it happening, unless they just absolutely kill it in the draft again this year and sign some BIG time free agents

The offensive line lost the game yesterday, not Brees. Danielle Hunter just about won that game by himself.

Not hating on Brees, but he had a crappy game. He wasn't on point for the last two post seasons.

The saints window is closed. We had our shots and blew them all. Last year was THE year.

the glaring issue yesterday was the Oline turnstile - when MN moved Hunter and the other guy inside - it was like the Oline had no idea what to do - on one play the guy ran right past Easton for the sack.

not giving Drew a pass - he had a rough game, but Peat was consistently bad all game, and was beat repeatedly. the oline was just not consistent in any way - they got dominated handedly.

but for those putting the game squarely on Brees - not even close to it being just him.

You are right. And, Brees could become the worst QB in the league and Saints fans should stand up and applaud him anyway.

Having said that, Brees didn't play well. And, the fumble was one of the worst plays I've ever seen him make. He felt the pressure. Leaving that ball out there like that was the kind of mistake a rookie makes.

No doubt the Vikings' DL played very well. But Brees made at least two terrible mistakes that killed his team.

1. The woefully under-thrown and unnecessary deep ball late in the 2nd quarter that intercepted and returned to set up Minnesota's first TD of the game. The game was 10-6 at the time and the Saints D was playing well.

2. The fumble late in the game after Hill had basically carried the offense down the field on his back. It's not Brees's fault Hunter got through for the sack. But it IS his fault for being so loose with the ball in that situation.

Obvious Brees has had far, FAR more good moments than bad in a Saints uniform. But forget the past, he was one of the worst players on the field for the Saints yesterday

He wanted to throw it but Michael Thomas ran the wrong route

O-line did not make Drew make a horrible decision to throw a terrible pass to Ginn in double coverage when we finally had momentum before the half for an INT, they also didn't make him fumble. Obviously they allowed him to get hit, but they didn't make him fumble

Yesterday not all on Drew, not even close. But you cannot deny that he is becoming less & less the reason why we win games. It's only natural with age man. He declined in '18, again even greater decline this year, how do you think he's going to be after getting another year older at 41 in '20?

He certainly played poorly yesterday but the loss was a team effort. This team looked like garbage many times this season and most of that had nothing to do with Brees. Many on here thought we were going nowhere in the playoffs including myself, even while Brees was doing his record breaking.

The coaching staff didn't seem committed enough to winning when they didn't get another WR for Drew. This season has made me lose faith in this coaching staff's ability to put together an appropriate team and gameplan for a 40-year old Brees. Drew could win another with the right team and staff. If Brees were in New England I have no doubt Belichick would have them in the Super Bowl

If that hunger and drive is missing I fear for the future of the franchise because ownership will never fire them

He had a bad game. He still had one hell of a season and you people need some damn perspective. I remember the Billy Joes and Wade and Wurfuel and the other excuses for QBs we had for so long.

We need to upgrade Peat (just sucks) and Armstead (injuries). An upgrade of Ginn would probably help as well. And while our play calling is usually pretty good, yesterday it was not.

Just step away from the computer and let it breath a little people.

hating is such a strong word for most of the talk i've seen. it's childish to resort to exaggerations in an effort to make your argument look better.

The reality is that Brees is the primary reason this team has been successful, and that continues to be the case, regardless of any of his limitations( those tend to be greatly exaggerated by a few posters). The passing game is mainly intermmediate by design, because that model has been proven to be successful in the league.
