When that happens you pick up a Kirk Cousins, Sam Bradford, Case Keenum, Foles etc...

I see Baker falling for that reason alone.

We will have BIG money when Brees retires. Is that difficult to comprehend?

How does MIN afford Cousins with all of the players they have to pay?

I don’t see Minnesota going for Cousins. Why would you honestly? Keemun was decent enough, and you can still get Bradford or Bridgewater a lot cheaper than Cousins. Cousins is better than all of them, but not worth the cap space of the little more production he could add over the other 3.
ETA: It doesn’t suck but it kind of does for y’all. If Brees were to retire any year, it looks like this would have been the best time with all the experienced qbs that will hit the market.

To spend on who exactly? It’s hard to come by good QB’s and unfortunately these guys will get married to a team needy QB this offseason for 3-5 years. We’ll have BIG MONEY but no one worth spending it on. Might as well grab a phenom when we have the chance, groom him, and wait until it’s his turn.

If Payton thinks Mayfield is good enough to be even remotely close to as good as Brees has been here for 10+ years, I’m all for taking him to pair up with our very young roster for long term success.
We were good enough to be in the super bowl this year even with a ton of injuries, add a few more solid free agent pick ups, draft some depth in the draft.. and we contend next year and for years to come.

You groom mid to late round QB picks. You start 1st rd QB picks.

I don't know if I agree with this. I'm on this board every day and I read every thread so I'm well aware of all the excuses for why we lost, but let's not lose sight of the fact that with the exception of the Panthers and Eagles (who we didn't play) we literally lost to every NFC playoff team at least once (Minny twice) and we got beat (badly) by the Patriots. Let's not get ahead of ourselves. We can always get better and, I would argue, we NEED to get better if we want a legit shot at the SB next season.

You know Minny has Stephen Diggs, Adam Thielen, Kyle Rudolph, Latavious Murray, Jerrick McKinnon
Can't forget about Dalvin Cook

and a stud defense too?
Yeah vs. average offenses

That would be 6’3 Allen Hurns and 6’3 Allen Robinson. And Marcedes Lewis could be very good with a good QB, who btw is 6’6
