Florio on the Cousins contract

Mike Florio is a bad reporter and NFL conspiracy truther. However, if this one came to pass, it would be the funniest thing since Bobby Petrino hog called his way out of Atlanta.
In short: Kirk Cousins is still rehabbing an Achillies. The Falcons have committed a ton of money to him. He probably cannot pass a physical now and will have to do so sometime at a future date. There is no way that Atlanta would commit that kind of money to Cousins if they weren't reasonably sure that his rehab is progressing well. The only way they could know that and have the deal done when it was is by tampering. If the NFL investigated, the Falcons would have a massive issue.
95% of Florio's conspiracies are either complete bunk or go nowhere, but it would be a joy if this one actually had legs. Don't hold your breath.

I give Florio credit for publicly calling out the Bountygate Lie but other than that he is a TDS infected lawyer who throws stuff to the wall & hopes it sticks & got unbelievably lucky & rich when NBC bought his website

Given his career and personality, I would be willing to bet they took his word at face value. Given his age, career earnings, and love of his family, if he wasn't rehabbing fine I could see him hanging it up instead of trying to swinddle a couple million more in career earnings.
