Been playing the game all my life...this is the first time I’ve heard an NFL officiating expert say you can’t commit holding on the gunner on a punt. Feel like I need to re-learn the game...

This is BS.

They keep saying it was called correctly but Blandino said holding still applies. At this point the announcers are just covering for the NFL.

You can't commit pass interference, but holding yes! BS call because he was HELD entire time downfield!!

He did not say there can not be holding on a punt. To the contrary he said you cannot hold on ANY play and then just spun if it to no pass interference on punt.

It was because it was against the Saints.

I thought you couldn’t commit PI on the gunner, not holding?

Yeh it was definitely holding, and that’s not a reviewable call. They may have handled it correctly in the end, but it still sucks donkey dicks.

Announcer was not supposed to ask Dumbdino about the hold and caught him off guard. That why announcer came back and said ‘so the play was called correctly right?’ This after Dumbdino said you can’t hold. Can’t have it both ways.

The rule expert is totally there to agree with the calls on the field. It is naive to think otherwise.

Not naive but what good is an expert if he is not going to tell the truth? He is just part of the ruse!

Agreed, but bland II said you can get called for holding. Then the play by play guys said...yep no PI on fake punts good call.
Totally contradicted bland into then just moved on.
