Looks like the Monday night game finally opened their eyes to what they will have to go though to get to Miami....
quote:

Barring a miracle, we wont be in the SB so dont worry. Colts/Pats/Chargers v Saints. No way a BC led team can contend with the Saints, they will destroy us and our soft cover two, it would be a blow out.

quote:

I have a LITTLE faith, because, as you said, any given Sunday. We could beat them, but if we played them ten times, theyd win nine. We just need to get lucky IF we face them in the playoffs. There arent many teams I think are better than us, only the Saints and Colts. And the Saints are better than everyone it looks like to me. If both teams play their best football, we'd lose.

quote:

Wow, After watching the NO / NE game last night I have to agree that the NFC Championship game is going to be our biggest challenge. Crap, that NO team was on fire. That was the first time I watched NO play. Hope that not what they bring evry game or we are in trouble.

I'm glad the rest of the country finally got to see what is brewing down here. When this team is completely focused they are unstopable!

ps- I'm sure the one guy left in the world who still cuts his hair with a vacuum cleaner will have something to say..

Except for Leafman...

quote:

Updated model simulations ... if the Vikings and Saints played right now:

in Minnesota, Vikings 38 - Saints 30
in New Orleans, Vikings 35 - Saints 33

The 4 major holes on the Saints, 3 of which are on Special Teams, give the more complete Vikings the advantage.

And those would be?

Carney I assume is one. I can't think of 2 others on special teams. I assume the non-ST is run defense?

Almost every power ranking I look at has either the Saints or the Colts at 1 and 2 respectively or visa-versa. The Vikes are a solid number 3. Here is what I don't understand. Last season we destroyed the Saints and we didn't have Favre, and our wide outs were playing like dung. And we had the Colts beat dead to rights last season until they came back late in the 4th. Yet again we didn't have Favre and Childress was still learning his own system.

We should be numero uno!

"Realistic" and "Vikings fans" hardly ever go in the same sentence together.

Saints fans, however, are by and large realistic. We've had to be through decades of mediocrity, sprinkled with occasional bursts of quality.

Viewing the Saints as the best team this year is not unrealistic. They have proved it on the field thus far.

I would troll a vikings board if not for fear of slicing my own wrist.

Our punt returning sucks this year, no matter who's making the return, and our coverage on kickoffs and punts has been spotty.

If we give Harvin a hole on a return, he could be gone.

I wonder how much people are going to sell their tickets if it is Saints-Vikings in the dome.

That sure would be nice. I can't remember the last time we played them and did not get blown out.

Does that mean they will be satisfied with just getting to the Superbowl since they have never won one?

History might mean something in college where playes grow up in the area they play usually, but history beyond 5 years pretty much means nothing in the NFL.

But I still get depressed that the Saints are playing so good when we finally seem to have our sh*t together and are having a dream-like season. This season feels so much like 1998 it is scary, with the exception of our offense isn't as good as the 1998 team, but the talent is there. Every other year I would be happy that teh Saints are having their season. But now, it just feels like, "Hey the Vikings are great!! But the Saints are better" you know? Som have compared NO and us to the 1998 Vikes and Falcons, and the Falcons did go into the Dome and beat us. But, that kind of good stuff just doesn't happen like that to the Vikes, at least it hasn't in my 30 years

uh Oh Well.
