Savage is getting cut. He's terrible. I think we pick up another vet after cuts and just roll with Hill until then. Don't be shocked if Hill plays first after Brees Saturday.
Also, our backup OL are more talented than our WRs after the top 4, so I can't see us keeping someone like TLL to cut Clapp or LeRiebus. Hooman is a classic case of can't make the club if you're in the tub. Don't see Stupar beating out Kikaha at this point.
If you want a "hot take" I wouldn't be surprised if Klein was cut. Probably not, because of the cap hit, but next year for sure.

Bushrod knows the system, is a consummate pro and won't blow assignments. Think of him as a better version of Bryce Harris who always seems to stick around.
Knowing the assignment is almost as important as execution in this offense. Brees gets rid of the ball so fast, you don't have to be great, but if you blow it from the start, there's issues.
Look at the ghost of Jahri Evans two years ago as an example. He was totally washed up but we did ok with him because he knew what to do- just kinda sucked doing it.

I was surprised we never signed another QB after signing Savage. I hope we snag an upgrade to Savage before the season starts.
I have Hill making the team too. Specials teams play going to keep his arse in the league one more year.

I mostly think this is accurate.
I don’t see Tommy Lee and Tate on the same roster. I also don’t see Edmunds and Line on the same roster. I think Hooman is cut for one of the young TEs.
I hope JT Barret clears waivers, i want to see him develop.

Few things here
- they handpicked Savage as the guy early in the process
- Savage has looked good in practice by all accounts
- good QBs don’t get cut. Now could a trade help us there? Yea, maybe. Mike Glennon, RG3, who knows. But don’t expect to find someone better than Savage after cuts
- in the wake of a Brees injury, we would most likely explore a trade or bringing in someone like Cutler or McCown. I don’t think we roll with Savage if there is something long term

They picked Savage but he's obviously not getting the job done. I haven't read that he's doing good in practice. Maybe better than he has in games but you have to show something in the games and he has only shown that he has zero awareness in the pocket and no ability to push the ball down field.
He looks slightly worse than Grayson and substantially worse than Ryan Griffin. He's not even in the same universe as Daniel or McCown.
They also "picked" washed up Adrian Peterson. They'll admit their mistake soon enough.
Agree that a "good" QB won't get cut. But bad is better than awful and Savage is the worst I've ever seen in the Payton era.

I still have like a lot of what i've seen from Hill. Obviously ball control 101 needs to be addressed but he needs to be more Hill back there and take off more, control the clock. Be less Drew where he's trying to make more reads and move the ball with his arm 100%.

If savage is good in the film room, that alone will keep him on the team.
People pay attention to the actual on field play too much. There's reason why McCown sticks around as a backup, it's not as much the on field but the fact he's a damn good study for film room and sideline.

I actually agree. If he simply holds on to the ball, he's viewed in a totally different light.
Not even sure the second INT was totally his fault. Self inflicted wounds. He moved the ball mostly when he wasn't fumbling.
Savage meanwhile looks like arse with no upside

I'm becoming more convinced hill and savage will both be cut.
Hill is the Saints best ST player. Lol

Yea but you’re talking about a guy that needs to play(your 2nd RB) vs one that will never play (backup QB).

So I'm the lone one that still thinks PJ Williams makes this team? or did I miss something?
Posted on 8/22/18 at 2:20 pm to mindbreaker
maybe PJ is a trade candidate if we can get something for him.

Still think he makes it unless someone offers us a pick. He's a solid #4

Also I don't think Clapp gets through waivers either
He's not. But I don't think Leonard is either. So... since I think Leonard has the higher upside, you have to keep him and congratulate Clapp on his NFL career.

You can't say that on an LSU based board you better duck.

Stupar will make it over kikaha.
Why do u think othwrwise.
Solid special teams and actually solid in a spot start.
Love kik but he is in no mans land .
Its gunna suck if they cut him
