I'm assuming this is without Cook's deal, so there is probably still a little room left to spend.

Kinda wild how much we’ve spent and still managed to have room

It doesn't include Bridgewater, Brown, and someone else iirc.

This should be with Easton counting though.

I'd have to check a couple of sites to be sure.

All told we'll likely be around $5 mil without counting whatever Cook gets.

Edit:
Neither overthecap nor the nflpa site show us at $14 mil. Both have us at about $18.5 mil with 55 players (no Easton).

It's possible the $14 mil figure includes Easton and Brown (Loomis loves first year hits of around $2 mil on bigger contracts). It definitely doesn't include Teddy.

Right. Not all of the contracts have been finalized and factored in yet

Teddy eats up about $7 mil, so we are around $7 mil left not counting Sherels and maybe someone else.

It also doesn't include Meredith's pay cut so that'll bump it some (I think we saved about $2 mil on him).

We need a little for picks (not much this year) the PS players, the 52nd and 53rd player, and about $2 mil in reserve for signing injury replacements in season.

That may mean a little more shuffling before signing Cook, unless it's a multi year deal.

And if we are still going after Ansah or Quinn, Armstead and/or Jordan are likely to get adjusted.

Can we still get a WR?

Why though? Not sure why everyone is obsessed with getting another receiver.

Meredith was still hurt, Ginn got hurt, and then Smith got hurt. We'll have all 3 back and they should all be healthy. Add in Kirkwood and that's 5 right there. And IF Dez can come back from that injury there's another.

To answer the question though, if we sign Cook we'd definitely have to do some shuffling to get anyone worth a damn. It'd be better to use that money on a DE to put in rotation with Jordan and Davenport. We need more bodies there than at receiver.

Top needs are clearly TE (far and away the biggest need), DE (low end starter/high quality backup), OT depth, and maybe a backup safety. Receiver is more than fine as is. It could use an upgrade, but you could say that about a lot of positions.

The only type of receiver I see them signing is a depth/competition one.

Would have to be someone getting cut that they really like.
I do feel they will draft a receiver though

Draft Clemson WR, Hunter Renfroe, and put him in the slot. Nothing flashy but has great hands and is a great route runner.

Agreed. Not being convincedl Cam was fully over the injury is one reason why the Bears didn't move more aggressively to keep him, so a full off-season to recover and see what he can do make sense to me from the saints perspective. Also, you have two rookie receivers who you want to see what they can do in their second year, and I also think Dez will be a factor in this as well. Having cook at tight end alleviates some pressure and allows us to see what these wide receivers can do.

Is there a legit possibility Armstead gets traded? In other words, is Clapp being counted on and the Easton signing is because Peat is moving outside.

Just thinking out loud here. If the right offer comes along, Armstead should be dealt.
