Well I'm tired of draft misses. And our two DE's are 2nd and third on other teams. We do not have a legit #1 DE. So yeah. I want a guy picked in the top ten to beat out those two.

I would be pretty pissed if he's the pick at 9. I'm not advocating taking him, but there's not enough there to rank a guy like Williams at 24 (per Kiper) and Bradyn Swinson at 122. Williams is very overhyped in these mocks

We have two passrushers, one of them has been injury prone his entire career but played solid last year. Granderson is a decent DE. We have absolutely nobody behind them and Williams has unreal potential. In a league where you need a plethora of passrushers you’ll be mad if a first year guy doesn’t beat out two decent DE’s?
And comparing Swinson to Williams is absolutely comical. I get that we’re lsu fans but that is just asinine. Don’t really care where Mel Kiper of all people has anyone ranked.

Im not sure Williams would be a good fit in a 3-4. I think J Walker would.
I would rather trade down a few spots and grab LB - Campbell.
We should get a few calls if the Raiders dont take Jeantry.

This is the most Saints thing I've ever read. Only 2 would go in the Top 20 for any other set of teams.
Booker is a 2nd round guy.
Shemar Stewart is a project.
Sanders is a mixed bag.
Williams could be had at 20-25
I fully expect them to go full tard and reach by about 15-20 picks.

On what planet is booker a 2nd round guy? That dude has been a guaranteed first round pick since the season ended. He’s the safest interior olineman in this draft. I don’t think anyone would argue about sanders or Stewart but you’re melting over Vegas odds.

We need a pass rush. Breese was generating pass rush up the middle, albeit a little out of control at times. But Young and Granderson are average at best. They can’t get to the QB. We need a pass rusher who can get to the QB. I don’t care if it’s Williams, Walker, Swinson, Scourton or the ghosts of Derland Moore, we need a fricking pass rush!
I’m so sick of QBs like Cousins or Stafford having all day to throw!!!
So yeah, I think Williams is a good pass rusher and would welcome his addition to the Saints.

Idk why people don’t like Williams. They watch him last year and he played and played decently on one leg. With that being said, it goes Walker, Graham, Williams for me in that order of preference for this team. Pass rush is the biggest need on this team besides LG and you can get one later.

I think it’s more to do with the fact that he has elite traits as a rusher, showed those flashes but isn’t a finished product in that regard despite still being a playmaker and excellent in the run game. Gives people flashes of Davenport - even though Williams is a much more polished player and probably even a better athlete.

If he really had a high ankle sprain that he played through this past season he may be underrated on the draft boards we are seeing. Sounds like teams are much higher on him than draft gurus.
I'd be OK with it even though drafting Williams reminds me of all the failures trying to address the position.
