Vonn Bell forced-fumble was the turning point of the game, similar to Taysom's momentum-changing blocked punt last week.

But he was the player most responsible for the one TD we allowed.

No way that was on Apple. Marcus Williams, Demario, and Analzone are the back three in "coverage". Coleman is head up on Manhertz but immediately crashes the line. I don't even see Apple on the field watching the replay

Most definitely not on Apple. He didn't even look at the TE.

Coleman looked right at him and ran up to jam/engage the block with him, saw run and "shed" past him.

I'm 99% certain it was Coleman's man as I saw no one else even look at the TE.

Edit:
Also iirc Apple wasn't even on that side. Latt was outside of Coleman on that play, so if it wasn't Coleman it was definitely Latt.

Edit:
I took that wrong. I thought you meant "No way, that was on Apple."

He meant it was on Williams, which I do not agree with. I don't recall Williams ever looking at the TE.

You're probably right, but I'm guessing that Williams is more likely to have deep zone/manned on TE coverage than Coleman.

Definitely don't see him on that side. I can't make out the other side totally. Probably on Coleman, maybe Marcus.

Booger or Whitten said it was Marcus Williams who should have covered him.

I was saying that it was likely on MW.

I heard that, but I they're tarded so I didn't put much into it. I do think that they're right, and that MW likely had the deep zone. I'd need to watch the play again to have any clue, though.

Williams wasn't even looking at that side. He most definitely did not have that TE and I sure in the frick don't trust Booger or Witten for the guy that brought them up.

Coleman 100% ran straight down at him and released him. Latt saw him get released and saw McCaffrey go to pass and started running back.

It was either Coleman or Latt that fricked up.

On 4th and short with a heavy package there is no deep zone. That's all man with 5 guys rushing on the snap (and one guy also watching the QB).

It was not designed for a deep zone and Williams was not playing one.

I'll take your word for it. It seems like Williams would typically be stuck covering the deeper passes in that situation. If Coleman blew it, that's good news. Worst signing since Browner, but not devastating to the cap to cut. MW and Vonn are playing REALLY well.

Rewatched it and now I'm not as sure. The angle of this replay was different and I saw where Williams was aligned.

There was still no "deep zone" as it was all man, but Williams was also in the area when the TE got turned loose (as was Latt and Coleman).

I would say it wasn't on Latt as he had outside contain (they moved him down to the edge late, which is part of why there was confusion as to who had who).

Coleman is the one who soft jams the TE, but he may or may not have been passing him off to Williams who was right behind him. Very hard to tell who actually had him in man as everyone bit.

So either Coleman or Williams. So maybe I was wrong.

Saints/Panthers

Highlight should be on there to look at. It happens very quick so it's really hard to tell who actually had him.

Watched a few more times and I still think it was Coleman. Latt was on the edge and took the FB as he should have.

The TE was on the end of the line and Coleman was the next guy in. Coleman definitely makes contact and then charges down.

Williams should have McCaffrey at that point, but I could maybe see a switch where Coleman takes McCaffrey and Williams has the TE.

Either way they both bit, which is why it's so hard to tell who had McCaffrey and who had the TE.

Edit:
Formation behind the line went-
Latt-Coleman-Williams-Davis-Anzalone-Klein with 5 down lineman. Latt and Klein had the outside edge on opposite sides.

Edit2:
If you pause at about 15 seconds you can see the alignment perfectly.

They had two TEs on the side with Latt. Latt had the FB, Coleman had the outside TE (the one who scored), Williams had the inside TE, and Davis would have followed McCaffrey.

So yeah going back to it being on Coleman. All the evidence points to it.

I had a friend of the Ravens, who follows the NFL well, tell me this tonight.

Said he was a great corner for the Giants.. They are just a dysfunctional team.

Yep, I owe him an apology. He really turned it on tonight. Seemed to be everywhere. Vonn Bell too

His open field tackle on the Panthers last third down was enormous.

Apple's ability to hold up in the secondary is the reason we are getting so many sacks.
