Exactly. He "cost" us the game, b/c he's Drew Brees and is held to an incredibly high standard that he lives up to almost every year.
His pressures have increased drastically this year and with that so have his mistakes. Yet people put all the blame on him and cite his contract, while ignoring how the interior line is VERY well paid (Jahri's was the highest ever for a guard at the time) and is horrible in pass protection.
Brees was perfect outside of 1 pass tonight despite constant pressure. The difference is that their defense made a nice play on the ball.
Hawthorne was given a walk in touchdown due to pressure and just dropped it
Brees finished 35/45 for 420 yards, 3 TDs and 1 Int. despite constant pressure and 4 sacks.
The pick 6 fricking sucked and was a bad decision, but he was flawless outside of that 1 play

I'd put the SF loss on him and would have put the Tampa game on him, but the team stepped up.
Blaming him for the Falcons, Browns, Lions, or this game is fricking retarded.
And he's making mistakes under intense pressure like he always has. The problem is that if he had a normal sack % for the # of pressures he has faced, we would get blown out every single game.
They ignore those plays when he saves drive after drive and only remember the mistakes
