This is bs. Every season the Saints suck people start bitching that its the ref's fault, replacements or not. Whether it's 1980 or 2007 it's the refs' fault. This has little to do with refs and mostly the o line playing like shite. If he wants to call someone out, maybe he should start with them. And, he can throw in that crappy d line as well.

The owners are the ones who put Godell there and I think they want him doing all this stuff. Why?

The college refs in the big conferences are not going to leave their conference job to fill in in the NFL with no guarantee if it will be a one pre season game job or a few games.
So they were stuck with finding people who would be willing to give up what they were doing without any kind of guarantee.

One thing that I can say is that Drew Brees is a professional and unfortunately the game should not have come down to calls by the referees if the players did their job.
