Notice an interesting trend with him, 2nd half of the year he seems to take off even more than usual. Same seen in 2009, 2011, and this year...this year though, so far has been downright nuts to start the 2nd half.

2009:
First 8: 68.3 completion%, 2336 yards (292 YPG), 8.82 YPA, 17 TDs, 7 INTs, 106.1 Rating - 5 home, 3 away
Last 7: 73.1 completion%, 2052 yards (293 YPG), 8.24 YPA, 17 TDs, 4 INTs, 113.4 Rating - 3 home, 4 away

2011:
First 8: 70.6 completion%, 2746 yards (343 YPG), 8.01 YPA, 19 TDs, 10 INTs, 100.6 Rating - 3 home, 5 away
Last 8: 72.0 completion%, 2730 yards (341 YPG), 8.69 YPA, 27 TDs, 4 INTs, 121.6 Rating - 5 home, 3 away

2018:
First 8: 76.3 completion%, 2336 yards (292 YPG), 8.37 YPA, 18 TDs, 1 INT, 120.6 Rating - 4 home, 4 away
Next 3: 76.6 completion%, 799 yards (266 YPG), 10.38 YPA, 11 TDs, 1 INT, 143.3 Rating - 2 home, 1 away
Projected last 8: 76.6 completion%, 2131 yards, 10.38 YPA, 29 TDs, 3 INT, 143.3 Rating

Projected 16 game finish:
370 completions, 484 attempts, 4467 yards, 9.23 YPA, 47 TDs, 4 INTs, 133.2 Rating

Damn sons.

If he finishes the year with these numbers he will win the MVP

Not to mention the most absurd completion percentage in football history at any level.

47 TDs seems very unlikely

Unlikely, but to be fair, since the LA Rams game he's thrown 15 TDs in 4 games vs 14 TDs in 7 games.

If he averaged 3 TDs a game over the remaining schedule he would be at 44. One or more of those games he could go nuts and throw 4 or 5. Bucs are awful on defense and Carolina isn't that good either. He could end up with 50 if they really wanted to try.

Each game is it's own individual thing, so I agree there's no reason to think he can't come close to 50, but the odds also seem like they'd be against it.

Mahomes, for instance, has had a game with 6 TDs (and 5 TOs) and a game with 0 TDs. What you get in one doesn't affect what you get in another.

It's all about how good the offense is against the defense, the game plan, and how things are going any given Sunday.

And Brees is good against most defenses, so he definitely has a real shot at 45+.

Man we absolutely destroyed people in the 2nd half of 2011

Giants 49-24
Lions 31-17
Vikings 42-20
Falcons 45-16
Panthers 45-17

3 of those were playoff teams

Yep, 2011 offense was an absolute juggernaut. As unlikely as it may be, this year may surpass 2011 if there’s no drop off.

The only thing missing IMO is a Jimmy Graham / Jeremey Shockey TE. Watson gets the job done, but could you imagine 2011 Graham in this years offense? It would be downright unfair.
