#Dolphins were ready to offer Sean Payton a mega-deal worth $100 million deal over 5-years to coach the team.
It would have made it just the second known $100 million coaching contract after the #Raiders gave such contract to Jon Gruden [10-years, $100M]

Pay him whatever they want as long as we get the right compensation.

That ship sailed with the lawsuit.

If true this is such good news for the Saints and future draft capital

Seems the most important part is kinda missing.
What were they willing to give the Saints?
Otherwise its all a big f@cking waste of time

The Dolphins had plans to compensate Payton’s and Brady’s former teams. Would a first-round pick satisfy New Orleans for Payton, who was still under contract? A second-round pick to Tampa Bay? That was the idea.

Do I believe that a small time independent sports reporter with no ties to the Dolphins or the Saints just broke a story that
A) a coach that just missed the playoffs
B) has one superbowl in his career 12 years ago
C) Only season coaching without his top ten all time QB was not great
Was about to get paid 8 million more a season (nearly double all active coaches NFL and College) than the highest paid coach in football period. Nah man calling bullshite on that.

Why would Jon Gruden be worth 2 1sts, 2nds and millions in cash 20 years ago but Sean Payton be worth a single 1st today?
FOH.

How long does Payton have to sit out before he can coach again and we don’t have his rights? Is there a timeline?
Posted on 6/13/22 at 3:00 pm to Fun Bunch
“Pay a ton” quit because Saints wouldn’t renegotiate. It makes too much sense now.
Posted on 6/13/22 at 3:02 pm to Fun Bunch
isn't payton under contract next year too? think anything gets cleared up by then? i know it probably won't be the dolphins, but i bet some other team will want him.

He’s on contract for forever right now with the saints. He has two years left. So the saints hold those two years for as long as they want.

oh nice. i think we'll be getting some nice picks in the future.

Jerry Jones clearly got that dumbass Dolphins coach to file a lawsuit to jam up this deal
