This is the worst division in football and we are light years ahead of any oter team in the South.

You’re kidding yourself if you think we’re “light years ahead” of Carolina. They’ve made some really nice moves this off-season, and if they hit on their QB and Reich can get him ready to play year 1, they could be sneaky good. With Carr, we should definitely still be the favorite, but a couple of unlucky injuries and that could change.

Not being able to predict injuries is why this “play-offs or fired” barometer is so stupid, especially in April. There’s no context. There’s a world where we are injury-free, the South is the worst division in NFL history, we make the playoffs at 8-9 but look terrible doing it, and DA should still be fired.

There’s another world where Carr tears an ACL pre-season, we are decimated by multiple other injuries, Carolina is good, we finish 9-8, miss the playoffs, and DA is NFL COY. Just way too many variables to make such a definitive statement with no context.

Given the additions they've made to this roster, if he can't make it work...in this sorry arse division.

That is a good read on the surface, but I think it hinges a lot on whether Michael Thomas can play more than 2 games and how many games is Kamara going to be suspended for.

We still have the draft and some wiggle room to add a couple of vets, but we still have some questions on defense as well.
Who's getting pressure on QB besides Cam Jordan?
Can our safeties stay and healthy and step up all year?
Do we have depth on OL if somebody goes down?

Weakest division in football. He has the best qb in the division. If he doesn’t make it this year he should be fired.

He will have had a half decade as a head coach and not one playoff appearance. You are what you are at that point.

Gayle won’t spend any additional money on the Saints Administration until we all step-up and fund the St. Louis Cathedral repairs!

No he doesn't he will survive until 2024 season. If he has a terrible year this year and starts bad in 2024 don't expect him to finish the 2024 season as HC. He good for 1 full year for sure.

Even if he does, will fans forgive last season? Or will the playoff appearance be viewed as a fluke and be ignored.

Loomis would forgive for sure. How long is DA's contract anyway?

Absolutely. There are no excuses this year to not win the South and make the playoffs

Guess it depends on how they perform in the playoffs and the expectation for the match-ups. Come in as a top seed because of weak schedule, and get absolutely drug through the ringer... fan base will revolt on the message boards. Lose a close match-up to a team like Philly (who many should believe is a better team), and there may be some leeway from the fans.

Obviously, make a run and at least get as far as conference championship; you'll have some saying its a fluke only happened because of down NFC; but I think you will have many giving him the benefit of the doubt and having some renewed optimism.

In our shite division he should. If he doesn’t then there is a major problem.

He should already be gone.

If we miss the playoffs in this weak arse division next year, then we need to detonate the whole thing
