So, basically, OPR wants to take into account every team that made the playoffs, which would produce a very very low percentage.

No he said he wants to compare all teams with 1 or more losses... that's every team every year but two.....

I was thinking you were strictly talking about super bowl teams...

Either way, it's difficult for me to follow stupidity.

You giving grammatical advice? What's the matter punk, found out you just fricked up and can't admit it? Yet again you show you might be the dumbest m'fer on the planet. Thanks for proving it yet again but starting a thread based on something SOMEONE else said! RETARD!

Actually, most years that is every single team in the league with the exception of the 72 Dolphins and the 07 Pats.

Damn, you're right. My bad, I was thinking he meant every year had 2 teams without a loss.

This is a theoretical discussion about whether the pressure of being undefeated ADDS to the difficulty in winning a SB or is inconsequential.

i guess what i'm saying is i think it's in the back of their minds that it would be great to do, but i don't think in any way that it is a major concern for anyone in the Saints organization, especially sense we haven't ever won a superbowl. It's like Rocky, you never had a chance and now you've got a shot, no matter how many people beat your arse in the beginning, it's about the bigger picture with the a bonus

I know it's possible to do both, however, HIGHLY unlikely

How the frick is it HIGHLY UNLIKELY to win 6 games over winning 5? If we go 16-0, that is it... we've done it, that goal is over, and SO IS ALL THE UNDEFEATED PRESSURE... What's so fricking stupid about idiots saying let's lose one game is that if we lose one game, we still have to win EVERY game in the playoffs and the Super Bowl... so finishing the season 16-0, or 15-1, or 14-2 are all the same thing... There is not going to be any more pressure on us in the playoffs if we are 16-0 or 13-3... The playoffs are all about the playoffs, the regular season seeds you in the playoffs and that is it...

I want the team to go 19-0, I want them to win a Super Bowl... And if there was a chance to do it better than anyone has ever done it... Why not? There is no pressure on this team to do that, they want to, and if it doesn't happen they will be disappointed... Fans need to get on board with that.

Absurd. Losing a game will in no way make this team more likely to win in the playoffs. Won't necessarily hurt them . . .but won't "help" them.

I don't WANT the Saints to lose. However, if we were to lose a game that mean virtually nothing, I wouldn't be angry. Little disappointed, sure, but last I checked the NFL doesn't give out trophies to be undefeated in the regular season.

I'm sorry but if you would just be a little disappointed then you aren't a Saints fan. Being a fan of a team that has basically failed to do anything attention worthy for 42 years has been really tough. We may or may not win the super bowl, but we are three wins away from being only the third team to accomplish an AMAZING feat.

If you say you would be only a little disappointed to come up short by so little of such an incredible achievement then

Why the frick would anyone "want to lose" especially in December?!!

Bullshite! I was at both of them.

1. beat the Rams, then lost in Minn
2. beat the Eagles, then lost in Chicago

THIRD in history. Wow and let me ask, do we get some kind of trophy or title with being the 3rd team in history to go undefeated? Just askin'.

We'd get recognition as one of the 3 greatest teams of all time, that's pretty good company IMO

I love how some fans act like it's all or nothing....

We have never even been to the damn super bowl!!!!

so yeah... being the third team to go undefeated and only the second in a 16 game season would be really f'in impressive.

Stop acting like it's all or nothing!!!

If they had lost or were to lose to Wash/Atl/Dal, as some were hoping, they would have more pressure on them to win the final games of the season only being one game ahead of Minnesota. If they go 15-0, there is a little bit of pressure vs. Carolina to go 16-0, but nothing compared to having home field on the line. And that would be for that one game, as opposed to losing to, say, Washington, and having pressure to win 4 straight.
