You have forgotten what horrible looks like.

Horrible is not 2-0 no pics(Ginn) no fumbles coming off the bench. Its just not.

Nope, not horrible. That said he is at the bottom of the second string QBs coming in to start due to 1st string injuries.

I am pleased he is accurate, for the most part, with his short pass.

The Saints will use Teddy as part of the bargaining chip to move up in the draft to select Burrows.

they would have to resign him before doing that. He is going to be a FA.

Lets see what Burrows does after the Utah game.

He's awful. You know how bad it is when you're having to count on the defense to bail your arse out all game. And don't worry about Red Zone efficiency.. Just settle for the easy chipshot FG after Kamara single-handedly keeps the drive alive.

This. We can all worry about next year... Next year.

This. He is a SERVICEABLE 2nd string. I hope something "clicks" and he begins to perform better.

It would be nice to see what he could do without all the penalties and dropped passes.

Do not want after this season
Hopefully he moves on and we draft burrow, with Brees playing 2 more seasons

I am a Teddy fan, but I understand the frustration.

We are spoiled by having one of the best QBs of all time under center. Whoever replaces Drew will never amount to Drew in many fans eyes (not saying Teddy is close).

IMO the issues with Teddy are fixable:

1) he is playing not to lose. He doesn’t turn the ball over much, but he also doesn’t take many chances. So he often holds the ball too long.

2) he has a really strong arm and can throw every type of pass that any other QB in the league can throw, but he isn’t a slinger.

3) if seemingly all of his runs weren’t called back with some very ticky tack holding calls, I think it would offset some of his poor pocket plays and result in more fan appreciation for his skill set.

4) he has to read the defenses better Pre snap, but again that will come with experience.

5) our line and WRs really have to do a better job too, but it is understandable. The WRs have to run their routes differently and expect the ball to come out later, but with more velocity. The line have to engage their blocks longer than what they are used to. They are also used to limited pressure up the middle of the pocket and funneling outside pressure to the outside of the line because Drew liked to,step up into the pocket. Teddy likes to spin out of pressure, so our tackles would need to funnel outside pressure back to the inside. Those are extremely hard adjusts to make into a season.

Overall though, he does need to play better, but at the end of the day, he isn’t making mistakes that are killing our team (although that last sack was bad), he is 2-0 against 2 very tough teams, and he is still getting his starting feet back under him. I mean a lot of people were hoping to get through the first 2 games at 2-2 with Drew leading the offense.

Why worry about this now. We need Teddy to help get the Saints through a few more games until Brees can return. Experiences like Teddy and the Saints are going through can make the team stronger for when Brees comes back.

I agree with the comment that Teddy appears very humble and recognizes what he is called upon to do in managing the game.

I hope not. He reminds of Aaron Brooks (not because he is black but because he misses wide open passes). He is ok as backup and hopefully will continue doing well enough to win most of our games until Brees gets back, but Teddy is not the answer at QB for the post-Brees era.

This.
The back shoulder throw to Thomas and the scramble and drop by Ginn show what he's capable of.

I'd like to see the guy currently at LSU get a shot at the job.

Let's trade him to Jacksonville for that Minshew fella. He's pretty exciting to watch.

I think we do. He’s been just enough with our defense to not completely fold without Brees. Many teams don’t have this luxury. Their starter goes out and the team is terrible.

...he’s not Gardner Minshew though
