Do guys think the Saints run more 2-TE sets this year?

Considering they brought in Ben Watson. Dave Thomas was used more as a blocker last year, when he was playing, while Watson is more of a receiver. Could it be because of the lack of proven WRs?

Colston-Proven
Moore-Proven
Morgan-Unproven all he ran was go routes
Toon-Unproven
Stills-Unproven
Roby- ST ace
Fayson/Hakim/Tanner-Who knows if they make the team.

No doubt, IMO. Ben is capable enough, and CSP clearly wants to run more.

Most definitely. I'm also have a chub for Higgins, who I believe can deliver into a solid number 2 TE.

It'll be important though, because I know the run game will be important this year. You saw CarMichael make the run game an after thought, but still trying to run play action 10+ times a game.

We might, but the Pats won't.

Tanner will make the team this year and will have 40 catches. He will be our true slot receiver.

I think this is a stretch. He was pretty damn good down the stretch, dude was averaging 40 yards a catch at one point. It's not like you need to him to have 60 catches. If he has around 30-40 catches for around 500 yards or so, thats great. He's the #3 WR IMO. He's what Devery was.

I would. But i wouldn't run a traditional 2 TE set with them on the line . I would split out Graham and Colston and then have Watson playing on the line. With Moore/Stills/Morgan in the slot and Sproles in the slot or in backfield. Just get him on the field somewhere. I think that formation would utilize our talents and skill players and it would give Brees an easier job with safety valves in Sproles and Watson. The height of Graham and Colston would kill just about every defensive backfield out there. And then you have a mismatch on Sproles. Itd either be a safety over the top which would give Colston and Graham little resistance in the middle. Or a LB on Sproles. Which is just a joke.

Should take a page out of Belicheck's book and run Graham from the slot, putting him in motion to get him mismatched on LBs and slow safeties. Like the Pats used to do with Hernandez. Easy yards right there.

I'm pretty excited about us snagging Watson. He's a freak athlete and I'm interested to see how he can do with Brees dishing it out to him

Yeah I think he's a pretty underrated addition. He gives us just another weapon for Brees so people can key on a single player even less now. Watson was huge for the Browns last year, he'll get good looks all year with defenses focusing on Colston, Graham, and Sproles
