Did Benson change his will as revenge…

Recall he wanted to move the team to San Antonio post Katrina, and the deal was set until Tagliabue stepped in.
I think he went to his grave bitter about Louisiana and knew his wife would more quickly run the Saints and Pels into the ground vs Rita (who has some of Benson’s instincts).
Recall this letter after Benson’s experience when the Saints played in Baton Rouge:
Paul, Roger, Jeff,
My trip to Baton Rouge was a total disaster. As my wife and the rest of my party left the suite, well before the end of the game, we were attacked by a number of hecklers who shouted obscentities at me and my party and put my wife and family in danger. Security was inadequate and nonexistent and we were led out through a hostile crowd on a very long route. If it had not been for my grandson and his friend, we could have all been severely injured or killed. In addition, the media was forcing cameras in our faces and slowing down our escape from a very dangerous situation and experience. We finally escaped without serious injury, but only due to luck and the intervention of my grandson and his friend. Secruity had completely abandoned us.
After this traumatic experience, I will not return to Baton Rouge for any reason, including any games scheduled for the end of this season or a contemplated next season. No person, much less the owner of an NFL team, should have either he, his family, or his friends subjected to this form of danger, intimidation, and abuse. We will not be back in Baton Rouge for any reason. I was advised not to go, but wanted to support the league. It was my mistake. I wanted each of you to know of this miserable experience and disappointment to me after i had tried to cooperate in every way.
Sincerely,
Tom Benson
I still think Benson wants the Saints in San Antonio and knows support will fail with Gayle at the head. Devious but it’s working.

Got dam you are stupid. Rita proved she didn’t have the ability to run the Saints. She was a coke head who couldn’t keep employees. You can get on here and claim she could do the job all you want. Just continues to make you the idiot you are

Old man Tom bitterly manipulating the franchise out of spite from beyond the grave wasn’t on my board bingo card for this year…but I kinda dig it. Tell me more.

Gayle is the keener of the Saints but Tom set up a vision of the future for the team before he passed and Dennis Lauscha and Micky Loomis are basically executors of that will/trust. Saying in the event Gayle passes it triggers the sale of the team. Gayle is still in control and could choose to sell before she passes. But if she passes the sale of the team is predetermined and both Dennis and Mickey are legally bound to follow the wishes of the old man. Those wishes will be oversaw by the courts and the league. As much as I feel like Mickey would love to screw the fan base over and sell to someone who says FY to New Orleans fans because of the latest criticism I do not this it will be legally possible. Again even if he wanted to and could convince Dennis Lauscha to go along.
The wild card is Gayle. She could say FY and convince to league to let her sell to someone outside of the gulf coast region interest.

I think OP is one of Rita's carpet munching girlfriends.

Not to mention Rita ran the VooDoo at that time
They made the playoffs the first year and never went back until the league folded in 2009
Then when the league restarted the team came back with a different owner from the Shreveport area who ran them into the ground, only making the playoffs once
And if Rita had taken over, you might have a bad owner for 40 years as opposed to the decade we have left with Gayle
