Contract extension negotiations between New Orleans and WR Michael Thomas are progressing. Sources say Saints are comfortable making him the highest paid receiver in the game. #Saints

#Saints and WR Michael Thomas are making progress on a long-term extension and the expectation is a deal gets done before training camp, per @diannaESPN. The team is comfortable making Thomas the highest paid WR in the NFL.

Interestingly enough, Falcons are trying to get Julio a deal before camp as well. Wonder which one holds out to see what the other will be?

Makes sense. No more big FAs on the table. Might as well use the $$this year while you have it to lock him up.

Well Thomas is younger, less injury prone and doesn’t have another 1st round pick across from him so I feel like he has more leverage at this point.

Jones has said he doesnt care about being the highest paid WR in the league, he wants to leave money for the team to sign guys like Grady Jarrett and Debo long term

Luckily, Julio isn't paid on a per TD basis, or he would be driving a 97 civic.

His usage rate in the red zone is abysmal.

He also made a big stink about his contract last year with multiple years left. He may not want to be the highest paid but he is still a pain in the arse.

Kamara's next deal will be a bit more complicated.

When it comes time for Kamara's contract, Brees massive contract won't be on the books. Even if Brees is still playing I would suspect it would be for significantly reduced salary.

Difference will be likely no Drew. See them much more willing to pay up. It's bleak after him on the depth chart.
