Seems any grab on the back of the jersey could have caused that injury.
Not true. Grabbing near the upper area causes a player to bend backwards at awkward angles, which is why basically that whole upper area is specifically in the rule.
Grabbing below that area will not cause that type of bend (understanding the physics of why should be pretty simple). If you grab a player on the mid to lower back it does not cause the upper portion to torque in that manner, instead just slowing momentum rather bending the player at an awkward angle.

frick lsu and all their lame arse fans. Tired of hearing about their shite on the saints board. Take it to the college, lsu, or moresports board.

The jerseys are so damn tight...physics...that it all acts as one unit no give no stretch. In the old days the jersey would give a little and that kind of tackle/injury wouldn't happen.
I disagree with your assessment. Looking at that last pic he could have grabbed him at his armpit and a similar result.

You aren’t very smart. He likely has the inside of the shoulder pad and the nameplate with the way his hand is locked on like that
It’s a horse collar. take your L and go away

frick you
You learn something new everyday.
Seems to me to prevent such injuries the rule should state "any tackle that results in the player being pulled down and backwards is now illegal no matter where he is grabbed". NFL

White CLEARLY was grabbing the nameplate area on Winston. It was dirty as frick, dangerous, and the exact reason why it isn't allowed. It ends seasons and can end careers.
It was a horse collar by the letter of the law but it wasn’t any more dirty than a run of the mill face mask.
According to what I can find the Saints were one of only 6 teams to commit multiple horse collar tackles last season. Are they one of the dirtiest defenses in the league now? You pussies need to grow a set.

I'm guessing PETA will be changing horse collar to something else next. What would be a name they suggest?

I have no idea what this even means.
I will say this
That man has some strong arse hands to grab and pull another man down like that.
And by rule it is a horse collar
But a big difference then grabbing the shoulder pads at the neck
The double standard and hypocrisy on this board is awesome
When Saints players are purposely trying to put players out of games….
Intentionally trying to hurt players
(as admitted by one of the posters on this board)
Oh, well that’s football and everybody does it.
And y’all cry like babies when a Saints player takes a hit.
This is tackle football.
Stop being a bunch of crybaby pussies
(Or is it pussys)

Get a room. Not like there is anything wrong with that.
Try it sometime.

Wow I didn’t know Saints fans were such pussies. Players like Devin White will have my respect forever. I’m all LSU before Saints. But that’s just me…and probably a lot of other people.
