Carr did better down the stretch because PC was getting hammered for having a predicable bland offense that’s easy to defend with no motion or play action, and he made some changes.

Carr isn’t good enough to overcome poor play calling and design.

But with a good coordinator, Carr can be pretty solid.

It’s my theory you’re witnessing PC learn how to be a coordinator on the job. Seriously, that shite is OC 101.

Saying that tho 25 throwing TDs in 17 games still is absolutely pathetic.

Hello idiot.

25 tds is top ten this year. Josh Allen and Pat Mahomes threw 27.

Damn we got some dumb mf’s around here.

Also tell that to Eli and his two Super Bowl winning 9-7 teams.

Eli won 2 superbowls, played
12 playoff games and was 8-4 in those games. Some even argue he deserves to be in hall of fame. Yet you somehow think Carr who couldn’t even get into playoffs with easiest schedule in league is comparable to him?? The dude in his career had made one playoff game and lost it.

The margin on your team with Carr as your QB to win a superbowl has to be razor thin. Could we maybe make playoffs? Sure. Superbowl? No.

Bottom line is statistics never tell the full story in today’s offenses.

Those stats aren’t even that good, especially relative to his contact

15th in pass yards
20th in pass TD %

Miss the playoffs with a schedule like this
Tanehill (benched)
Bryce Young (rookie)
Jordan Love (bad version)
Baker ($4 mil version of Carr)
Mac Jones (benched)
Stroud (good)
Lawrence (good version)
Bagent (UDFA rookie backup)
Dobbs (backup)
Ridder (benched)
Goff (good)
Young (rookie)
Devito (UDFA rookie backup)
Stafford (good)
Baker ($4 mil version of Carr)
Ridder (benched)

Dude has exactly 1 playoff start and lost that game.

Yeah, he played well and they lost to Burrow/Bengals.

Carr drove the Raiders down the field with a chance late but Bengals prevailed.

That was a good watch, well played game. The Bengals were just too good man. They had a defenseee on that team. Before they had to pay up some big contracts etc.

Yeah. And Eli’s teams were 9-7 going into those playoffs and NOONE thought they would win.

Which is why you compete and try to make the playoffs.

God, alot of you didnt play ny sports huh. Horrible fanboy takes only here. All or nothing quitter mentality.

If you were in charge we would just forfeit and get tampons.

Eli/Giants was just dumb for thinking they had a chance huh?

God, I swear ya’ll are women. shite we might as well just not play games. Right?

I would have loved to see the Saints in the playoffs.

We’re playing well. So sorry we didnt go 2-14 like you wanted.

The only way Carr could be a superbowl winning QB is if he had an elite defense.

I’m talking ‘02 Bucs or ‘00 Ravens level defense.

Baker mayfield is the best QB we beat all year.

What else needs to be said.

We aren’t good. Allen and Carr aren’t it.

I actually think carr still could be good enough to be a playoff qb several years running like andy Dalton with the bengals, but not with Dennis Allen.

One of your qb or coach need to be above average to have a chance.

Saints defenses with Dennis Allen have been top notch.

This year they fell off, Can Jordan/TMatthieu finally declined. We’ll be back to top ten though quick, hopefully top 5, we were around 15 this year.

Some mid tier qb’s who won with elite def ar Big Ben, russel wilson, Joe flacco. Jimmy Garropolo and Ryan got close.

There is a path to the championship without an elite QB. Saints are trying that path clearly.

Carr is mid tier just like Garrapolo, Flacco, and is closer to Eli/Ryan/Wilson etc than this board is giving him credit for.

The board has some of the dumbest football fans I’ve ever been around.

Carr had some woes but he’s progressed a lot.

No. I'd just make smart decisions that don't doom us to mediocrity at best.

You're too focused on results-oriented thinking to realize your process is terrible and will inhibit the results you seek without outlier luck. Worst of all it's all short-term thinking where you delude yourself over the cost the Saints will face in the future (again, costs for mediocre results at best).

We would rather rely on a more efficient and intelligent process, which gives you a much higher chance of success without reliance on outlier luck. It's not about "tanking" unless that is the superior process/analytical approach.

The worst part about our approach is that we continue to limit how we can improve our team, especially efficiently. We can't cut overpaid players taking up too much cap (Hill, Cam, etc.) and we likely have to restructure or even extend them. That removes roster spots where we can improve, without even discussing the cap consequences. We trade future draft picks to inhibit the cheapest and most +EV method of improving a team (draft picks).

How do we improve on them?

Do you think extending Cam was smart?

Hell, do you think signing Mathieu (and/or Maye) was smart?

Lol you could have had a normal discussion but I’m female because I prefer not having a a sissy arse coach or shithead mediocre QB and thinking we could win the superbowl???

Again go drink the Mickey Loomis kool aid this offseason and keep this same god damn energy when we’re playing a normal strength schedule.

Honestly I seriously think you’re a Mickey Loomis alter. Are you going to now compare 2006 Brees to 2023 Carr like he did and say we’re ok. You’re the exact idiot who will be renewing season tickets next year and then complaining when we suck.
