This guy fits the bill, minus the off-field issues that they love to draft, of being a Cincy Bengals pick. They always end up with beasts off the edge, could definitely see this guy being their next one. Hopefully not, but.

Wouldn't hate either Barnett or Taco.

I don't think they'll be JPP but they can be as good as Cam with a little coaching.

general draft thought about Barnett and value...

I think there is much greater variance on team big boards than we imagine. I can see him within a top ten for one team and twenties for another. The draftnik talking heads compile these overall big boards. They are good for reference but general reference only.

That vast difference is what can make it entertaining with those who surprise. Whether to the downside like Aaron Rodgers famously from #1 talk to #24 or the yearly WhoTF is he surprises.

If I had to guess, I'd say most players write some sort of cover letter to NFL teams. And by "players" I mean their agents.

Barnett is a top 10 player in this draft and the Saints would be very fortunate to get him at 11, unfortunately I don't think he'll be there because scouts know more than these "mock draft experts" know who have projected him to fall past our pick.

I think he goes to Cincy at 9.

I'm actually thinking Carolina may take him. All this talk of finding Cam a RB (i.e. LF/McCaffrey) doesn't seem to be the big picture. They're lacking sorely on the opposite end of Mario Addison like we are with Cam Jordan.

Why is he writing a letter? A lot of people must be down on him.

Huge difference in 5th year money between top 10 and out of top 10.

He knows he's on that borderline of getting picked top 10 and hopes this puts him firmly there.

This is his second letter.

The first said:

"Dear NFL,

Please don't let the Browns draft me."

Replace Mixon in 3d with a qb and put it in the books!

Good Lord Focker I'll take that draft in my dreams!!! I also think Beckwith is gonna be a good pro along with D Thomas surprising the hell out of a lot of people. Beckwith cant last that long can he?

That's my point. If he knew he was going to get drafted early why did he feel the need to put this out there? Obviously him or his agent felt the need to put his name out front.

Ehhh. He was pretty bad at playing wide receiver. Obviously the qbs didn't help but he was soft as hell for a bigger guy. It wouldn't shock me at all if he fell quite a bit. Dude should've stayed so badly.

I'm sure this was real compelling to the GM's that read this letter.

How far does Barnett fall? No way he did this desperate gimmicky shite unless he knew he had dropped to later in the 1st at least.

as far as the letter, I like it. He's trying to differentiate himself as a serious player committed to hard work. If I am investing millions into a 21-23 yo kid I'm looking for all the pluses and minuses I can find.

Ya know who it reminds me the opposite of? Nkemdiche, supremely talented but with a rep of taking plays off and not working hard. Arians called out his work ethic during the season. I think Barnett is just trying to tell teams, I'm not THAT guy.
