Then he and Loomis traded away our draft pick for trading up to get a WR we probably could have gotten anyway, and sent our Pro Bowl Nickleback away for a bag of mixed nuts.

Our offense is worse than Jim haslett’s worst years.

Please get these clowns out before it gets worse.

I convinced myself we'd be ok letting Williams walk with honey badger and maye. I was wrong. Our safety play isn't getting it done.

The one who said he didn't want to play here any more? That one?

In fairness, half of that talent has missed games with injuries.

Yesterday at one point, we had Young, Throckmorton and Andrews on the OL.

It boggles the mind that some want to give Allen an injuries excuse when the teams is awful at turnovers and penalties, an Allen trademark.

Payton didn't and still never went worse than 7-9 and 9-8 last year.

I blame Loomis much more than Allen for this season

If you think about it, the only expected starters from the beginning of the year that played in the game against Pitt were Ram, Ruiz, Olave, Landry & AK. Injuries are a major issue with this team. Allen is still a shitty coach, but you can already tell he's going to get the benefit of the doubt and able to blame injuries and replace coordinators as a scapegoat to give him another year. Hopefully the appeal of a high draft pick in 2024, and a better cap situation (still won't be resolved) will entice some of the better available HCs

DA can't get us in contention when the conference is worse than it's ever been. Every team has injuries, etc....to deal with but they still find a way to make enough happen. We have played 1 good game all year and that was against the Raiders.

We are stuck till after next season . Think about this: what good future coach would come next year with no #1 pick, no current franchise QB and a team in salary cap hell. We have no real trade bait to get a number1 ( Payton?) is the only option. You can't really blowup this team because our best players have a lot of mileage( Cam Jordan) and big salaries.
We will have to suffer through at least this season and next before we can attract a quality HC whom will have options to pick a franchise QB and have cap room to improve our team through the draft.

a team on paper is not always a winning team.

that's why they play the games

And crazy thing is, I think it will take through the 2025 season before the cap is in correct order; assuming it is properly managed to fix and not what they are doing now. This whole, let's screw around with all of these cap numbers to get big FA after big FA needs to go away. 2023 needs to be focus on draft, fill roster gaps with key FAs, move money to get under cap; then repeat in 2024 & 2025.

$60M over the cap with only 37 players in 2023 will take some time to manipulate unless there is a huge cap jump in the next few years. Hell, they are only $5M under the projected 2024 cap and have only 31 players under contract

It's the way these contracts have been designed, borrow money from next year to pay this year. It works because if deep pockets. It's dangerous because you better be sure the players live up to the contracts or you can't get rid of them (I.e. Peat, Thomas, etc)

I bet you he would have this year. He knew what he was leaving the Saints with, that is why he wanted out this year. He saw the writing on the wall. He is a smart man and hell, he configured this team minus the FA and draft class from this year. He left the Saints with WINSTON and BOOK, he knew we would be shite this year.

Hell, I bet he made his mind up when he was starting Hill at QB and saw that wasn't going to pan out either.

this only works if the guy involved in the draft gets replaced so they arent doing everything they can to give away our next 3 yrs worth of 1st round picks to reach for players of questionable needs as well as giving out guaranteed long term overpriced contracts like candy
