The New Orleans Saints are sticking with Dennis Allen as the team's head coach moving forward.
General manager Mickey Loomis announced this decision on Friday, per team insider Nick Underhill.
Allen's first season as head coach with the Saints was mostly disappointing. The team went 7-10 and failed to capitalize on an extremely-weak NFC South division — capping off their season with an ugly 10-7 loss to the Carolina Panthers.

The Saints appear to be taking a patient approach when it comes to Allen. While he has extensive experience as New Orleans' defensive coordinator and previous head coaching experience with the Raiders (2012-14), the organization is still giving him the benefit of the doubt after a disappointing Year 1.

Allen is now 13-38 as an NFL head coach. If he doesn't improve significantly in 2023, the Saints could very well part ways with their sideline leader.

Pete sinking the ship with Allen next year and getting us a high pick is better than DA and another random OC winning 6 or 7 games.

People on here who think Payton would’ve done better given the injuries and his boy Winston starting the season are delusional

He would have done better with what he had. Using Hill, etc.

He wouldn't have looked at Dalton and saw him as "part of the solution".

Anyone who is shocked by this is not living in the real world.

He won 5 games with jameis and Jameis went down in the 6th.

Season ticket sales are going to tank. I'm expecting 10,000 non renewals. Between Allen returning and the city can't or won't protect patron vehicles, what's the point?

It comes down to ownership. Look at Denver. They saw Hackett was a massive mistake and cut bait in season. New owners there and they care. I don't think Gayle is all too concerned about winning.

Where'd you get that 10,000 non-renewal figure from? Sauces?....or just arbitrarily made up?

You must be one masochistic person or high schooler to sit behind a computer all day posting all negatives Saints have a large waitlng list ticket base potential. You need to be called out for all your BS. If ou don’t like it here move.

The Saints don't even take a deposit for that waiting list. It's worthless and you know it.

Of course they do, but without deposits it’s worthless and not a real indicator of interest.

I like the Saints as much as anyone, bringing back a sub .300 coach is a mistake and fans will vote with their non renewal in my opinion.

Allen cost us at minimum 2 possibly 3 games. That’s a huge difference. Payton had balls and would try to put a game away. Allen is a huge vagine.

I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall for that chat between Allen and Loomis.

Agree. Old man Benson has to be rolling over in his grave watching how lenient Gayle is with the staff.
