Both are elite in run defense and pass coverage. Combine them with the secondary and the Saints might have the best back 7 in the league.

Crazy how we suffered for years with poor LBers and got two of our best ever as FA from the Jets

Werner is so good man.

I remember people hated that pick.

Going to be a sad, sad day when Demario has to hang it up.

I honestly believe werner can get to demario's level.

Davis is one of my favorite Saints of all time. He is an incredibly humble and devoted person and his decency seems hard to find in the NFL. He’s also a top 2 LB of all time for this franchise, which is saying a lot given the dome patrol years.

Would love if he and Cameron Jordan could win a Super Bowl here.

It's because we mistook werner as the other white lb'er who got burnt like toast

Vilma was traded, but you got the point across.

Demario is a beast. I was watching him in space against Manlet Bryce Young and he looked quick. Dude should have been another Vilma and gotten us that 2nd Super Bowl. I remember how bad the LBers were before Vilma and he got that whole defense in line. But Payton's incompetence on offense was too much to overcome this time.

I’d take that LB corps over this corps, but as a MLB, he is better than Mills or Johnson.

His only competition for best Saints LB all-time is Jackson and Mills. I think he’s better than Mills and neck and neck with Jackson.

Well Jackson and Swilling were 3-4 OLBers so they don't really play the same position as Davis. Not saying they weren't great, just that they weren't stand up middle Lbers.

I'd also argue that Mills and Johnson played in an era where football was much more about running the ball and they would both struggle in todays game with all the spreading you out and passing the ball. I could also argue that Davis would be better at stuffing the run in a 1988 era style game than Mills or Johnson would be at playing the pass in a 2023 era game.

But I won't make any of those arguments, I will just say that the eras are so different that you can't do an apples to apples comparison and they were all great Lbers in their respective times.

Both are elite tacklers too. Always in position, and always bring the ball carrier down.

SF and NOLA have some damn elite LBers; but I think individually right now Demario Davis might be #2 for PFF (I think matt milano was #1?)
