They were just talking about Rankins and Davenport on late hits on nfl Sirius. They were shocked and like poor saints this is really terrible break for them. Only Hope is to just try to out score everywhere. Every team has 6 to 7 guys that you just can’t get hurt. That’s probably 2 if the 7 die the Saints. Like they were talking about someone who just died

Four guys Saints really can’t afford to lose:

Lattimore
Thomas
Cam
Brees

...Davenport is a bad one, but not insurmountable.

The truth about Rankins is he wasn’t back to himself this year, and we have other guys playing better. Sucks for depth though.

I think they also are selling short our reserves

Hendrickson/Granderson
Onyemata/Edwards/Tuttle

We have quality depth. Rankins hasnt been right all year. Not saying this doesn't hurt our chances cause it obviously does but we can survive this.

I think we'll be ok as long as Cam Jordan stays healthy. Before Davenport & Rankins got injured...we rotated 8 guys on the D-Line. We still have 6 of those guys left.

Granderson will probably be the 7th guy now. We just signed DE Noah Spence & DT T.Y. McGill as well. Ryan Nielsen wanted McGill.

I think Shy Tuttle is about to blow up. He's looked great the last 2 games.

Davenport is ok all we need is a average de and he's replaced

He kept getting better, but he wasn't anywhere near his 2018 form. Malcom Brown was better this year, Onyemata was about the same as Rankins, & Shy Tuttle was easily holding his own. We should be fine.

I think we're going to miss Davenport's run defense the most. I'm expecting Mario Edwards to start playing more DE to stop the run. Hendrickson still needs to get better at run defense, but he did look good last game. Hopefully, that's a good sign going forward.

Well that isn't true, but a combo of 2 guys that we have can play the part as specialists. Out of depth

Rankins is the far easier talent to replace than the edge man playing at a very high level

Wow. I can understand if people don't like what we gave up to draft him, but that has nothing to do with how good he is.

Cam is an elite DE, & Davenport is easily a good DE. His run defense was borderline elite.

Davenport shall be missed on shutting down any run to the outside for certain. Two seasons, two injuries, and just when he’s starting to put it together.

He probably thinks we gave up 2 first rounders for him too.

Onyemata played really well when Rank was out to start the season. I think we will be able to hold up there.

Ramczyk has to be on that list. I dont even know who our backup RT is which means he'd probably get Brees or Teddy killed.

There are several I didn’t list that would hurt a lot, but those 4 would be insurmountable and would destroy their position group.

Ram is fantastic, but I think we could still field a decent O line if he went down.

Saints are 1 of 2 teams with 4 players on the O line that are top 10 at their position, per PFF.

i do think our defense has been struggling more the last few weeks minus the 2nd game vs. Tampa.

and the 2nd game vs. Atlanta. But in that game Atlanta's O-line was depleted.

the injuries at LB have hurt some also.

but the san Fran game was crap. The DB's were giving the 49ers WRs free releases off the line. Hell just walking off the line and letting them start their routes with no challenge so can't fault them if thats what they were told to do. When that happens the safeties are also being put in a tough spot depending on the coverage.

also though, I will say san fran had to run a bunch of gimmick plays to succeed so good luck to them trying to use that later on.

i agree the players you listed matter most in the crunch time but losing multiple D-linemen and having already had injury issues on the Oline I'm worried.

all the shite the team has gone through the last two years with crap endings and now injuries are piling up... yeah.. I'm worried.

hopefully they find a way but damn man.
