You would theoretically do it because you want to lock him into a long term deal.

I don't think that should happen. But, it's not a mystery why a team would do that. They would do it because they want him to be a part of their future.

Uh, yeah he would.

If you think the 5/75m is too low for Taysom, you aren't being realistic.

Now, I will admit that if he were signed to a 5/75M contract, and had a good year, that contract would seem very, very low.

But, the guy hasn't shown anywhere near enough to make me think anyone would give him a contract to be a starting QB. But, if someone did, Taysom would jump on that opportunity in a heartbeat.

backups don't make that much.

Taysom Hill a 5 year 75 million dollar deal? Yeah, no thanks.

I am no NFL GM, but that would seem like a foolish deal.

He's definitely a very useful and multifaceted player, but if you sign him as QB, you sure the frick aren't putting him on the punt team anymore.

Right. That's why I said, it seems impossible for a 5/ 75M deal to look reasonable one way or another in 2-3 years.

But, there is a market for QBs, and a market for Taysom Hill at QB. The market for Hill isn't anywhere near the average market...and Hill knows it. That's why he'd jump on an opportunity to get that kind of money, and an opportunity to start (which he may never get again).

You are crazy to think he'd pass on that deal.

Teddy B is way more proven than him.
Why would you pay him that?

The market isnt there for him at that price. What other team would even think about that?

If anyone gives Taysom Hill 15 million a year, they are certifiably insane.

Could we get him for that kinda of money? I am 100% positive that he would jump on that offer. Are the Saints crazy enough to pay him that kind of money? Gee, I sure hope not.

Taysom was the best Saints player on the field vs the Vikings. How do you put a value on him, I don't know?

Trequan Smith was the best player on the field vs the eagles in ‘18. Doesn’t mean he deserves a big contract

Can’t overreact to small samples.

I think you mean Bridgewater. I don't think I ever saw Taysom throw it down field.

I think we could get Taysom hill for 5 year 35 million max right now. Teddy just made the most money in the nfl last year for a backup QB. Taysom isnt being brought in as anybody’s starter. He’d be brought in as a backup/ utility player who could possibly turn into a starter for a few years, but isn’t the future of a franchise based on age alone and obvious inexperience as a QB in the NFL. He definitely could outplay that contract if the circumstances are right but that’s his worth to me right now. Over that is just too much right now

You're giving a QB that has thrown less than five passes in legit NFL games a $75 million deal? Holy hell man I'm glad you aren't the GM

is that the going rate these days for 3rd string gadget players? NO one is the league is even going to offer him to be their 2nd string backup QB. The delusion is strong when it comes to this guy

Taysom Hill will be a Saint next year because nobody wants him. He wasn't even drafted. Besides what will happen to him if he was the starter and teams were preparing for him and not Drew.
And Coach Peyton will always say nice thing about him, what he supposed to say "he sucks as a QB".

this is ignorant...many MANY players were overlooked and then became successful.

If you want to argue he isnt talented enough to be a successful starting qb, id listen, even though you dont have enough tape to judge one way or another.

But rest assured, all 31 teams have (or should have) an eye on getting him for the right price.
