Finally got our 90 man roster figured out to the best of my ability.
I'm leaving Lil'Jordan Humphrey off b/c nobody else (Spotrac & OTC) has him on it.

that's a very solid roster. no weaknesses. interested to see how hill does at te. if nothing else, he can clear out the underneath with go routes up the seam.

Nice job. Funny enough, MT's contract doesn't look that bad anymore seeing these other WR deals haha. That Peat contract

Good news...I was wrong about having 7 or 8 mil.
LINK
Starting the offseason in the red by more than $70 million would concern most teams. But not the New Orleans Saints. After clearing more than $100 million in salary cap commitments for the second year in a row, the Saints have found key weapons on both sides of the ball and landed big additions in their 2022 draft class. Now, after signing all of those deals, they still sit under the cap with $9.6 million left to spend — Over the Cap’s records have New Orleans at $12.6 million in cap space, but that doesn’t reflect the small charge for Jarvis Landry.
The Saints’ newest free agent pickups in All-Pro safety Tyrann Mathieu ($3.4 million) and Pro Bowl receiver Jarvis Landry ($3 million) plus their entire 2022 draft class ($8.3 million in cap hits for receiver Chris Olave, left tackle Trevor Penning, cornerback Alontae Taylor, linebacker D’Marco Jackson, and defensive lineman Jordan Jackson) combine for just over $14.7 million, collectively.
New Orleans has done a remarkable job structuring team-friendly deals for their impact free agent signings and benefited from their patient approach on the open market. Also, neither Mathieu nor Landry will count against the Saints for the 2023 compensatory picks formula.
Now, with over $12 million remaining, the Saints could look for another LSU reunion by bringing back free agent linebacker Kwon Alexander. This would be a move that helps to shore up depth on the defense’s second level. But they could also choose to roll the majority of these funds over as insurance for any injured reserve additions throughout the season and to carry into 2023 as a cap management measure ahead of the next offseason. Returning Alexander would continue the momentum of what’s turned into a very exciting offseason, but the less exciting decision to roll money into next year is a pragmatic and wise one.

Considering how Loomis creates value...we should be able to get like 2-3 decent players.

I'm still mostly worried about OG. I know Hurst can slide into OG, but that also is dependent on Penning catching on fast at OT.
We NEED Jameis & our O-Line to be legit. Everything else should take care of itself in the grand scheme of things.

Was thinking same.
In my best case fantasy scenario to start the season both our starting guards are beat out by better, younger players in camp

Lesbihonest, this season hinges on one player. If JW plays well the Saints are a really tough out. If he crushes it, the Saints are SB or bust.

Really hoping we see some improvement from Ruiz. He’s had some weird circumstances with covid and constantly swapping positions. So hopefully we see some improvement or we have some serious holes at guard.
LB definitely feels thin. I mean idk who our third linebacker is in a base 4-3 at this point.
It will be interesting to see if either Davenport or Turner take control of that DE spot. Both will play but can Davenport stay healthy? Turner was pretty much banged up most of last year as well. I really hope Davenport gets a full season because he’s a monster when he’s on the field.
Love what we have at skill positions on both sides of the ball. I think the only concern we should really have is depth at guard.

Still need one good veteran DT to start. A backup RB as well.

i wish they would swap ruiz to c, mccoy to lg and peat to rg.
at the moment, og is our weakest part of the team, but average none the less. i think hurst is a better og than both peat and ruiz.

Geez, how many more years of Drew having a dead cap effect us?
Posted on 5/21/22 at 12:57 pm to armytiger33
This should be the last one.
It was necessary though. That was the only way to lower his cap #.

Would love to see us add
Vet guard for depth (Max Garcia?)
Vet DT for depth(Sheldon Richardson?)
Vet RB (Darrell Williams?)
Maybe OBJ

Jameis is a legit #1 , & proved it last year imo.
Dalton is one of the best #2 QBs in the league.
Book is a question mark, but all teams would be screwed starting their #3.
What don't you like about our QBs?

What I am really excited about is nearly $26 million of dead cap comes off the books after this year, allowing to us to keep any piece we want to keep. Now we just need Sean to get a coaching job and recoup some picks.

I started a thread on this, but I'll post it here as well...

Top 43 RB's
#11 - Jerick McKinnon, RB, Chiefs. Age: 30
I didn't think I'd be ranking Jerick McKinnon this high after the regular season, but he was amazing in the playoff win against Pittsburgh. He was great as both a runner and a receiver, and his pass-protection ability is superb.
#12 - Justin Jackson, RB, Chargers. Age: 26
Justin Jackson looked terrific in his one start against the Texans this past season. He made the argument that he deserves more touches.
#16 - Jordan Howard, RB, Eagles. Age: 27
Jordan Howard still showed an ability to run well last year, gaining 406 yards on 4.7 yards per carry.
#18 - Devonta Freeman, RB, Ravens. Age: 30
#19 - Latavius Murray, RB, Ravens. Age: 32
#22 - Carlos Hyde, RB, Jaguars. Age: 31
#23 - Tarik Cohen, RB, Bears. Age: 27
#26 - David Johnson, RB, Texans. Age: 30
#29 - Alex Collins, RB, Seahawks. Age: 28
#32 - Malcolm Brown, RB, Dolphins. Age: 29
#33 - Peyton Barber, RB, Raiders. Age: 28
#36 - Wayne Gallman, RB, Vikings. Age: 27
#38 - Kalen Ballage, RB, Steelers. Age: 26
#39 - Corey Clement, RB, Cowboys. Age: 27
#40 - Jalen Richard, RB, Raiders. Age: 28

Top 37 OG's
#09 - Daryl Williams, G, Bills. Age: 30
Daryl Williams had trouble saying healthy in the past, but he hasn't missed a game in the past three years. He has been a solid presence in the interior of Buffalo's front.
#12 - Quinton Spain, G, Bengals. Age: 31
Quinton Spain was a quality guard for the Bengals last year, especially when it came to run blocking. Pass protection was a bit of an issue, but not a glaring one.
#13 - Richie Incognito, G, Raiders. Age: 39
Richie Incognito hasn't played much in the past two years. He was great the last time he took the field, but that was a while ago.
#16 - Ereck Flowers, G/OT, Redskins. Age: 28
Ereck Flowers is known as a bust in New York circles, but he has played well since leaving the Giants. The trick was moving Flowers from tackle to guard.
#17 - Kyle Long, G, Chiefs. Age: 33
It seemed to be a big deal that Kyle Long came out of retirement to join the Chiefs, but he didn't play a single snap in 2021.
#18 - Lane Taylor, G, Texans. Age: 32
Lane Taylor was a great lineman for the Packers, but he tore his ACL in 2020 and did not look like a functional blocker for Houston. He could rebound with another year removed from his injury.
#20 - Oday Aboushi, G/OT, Chargers. Age: 31
#22 - Michael Schofield, G/OT, Chargers. Age: 31
#27 - John Miller, G, Panthers. Age: 29
#28 - Dr. Laurent Duvernay-Tardif, G, Jets. Age: 31
#32 - Matt Skura, G, Giants. Age: 29
#35 - Senio Kelemete, G, Chargers. Age: 32
LINK
Top 66 DT's
#03 - Akiem Hicks, DE/DT, Bears. Age: 32
There's a lengthy history of the Bears being far worse against the run when Akiem Hicks is out of the lineup. Hicks is a force up front, though age (32) is becoming an issue.
#08 - Sheldon Richardson, DT, Vikings. Age: 31
Sheldon Richardson is a quality defensive tackle with no weaknesses, but he is not the same interior force he once was.
#12 - Brandon Williams, NT, Ravens. Age: 33
Brandon Williams was once a fierce run-stuffer, but things have changed in recent years. Williams has regressed now that he's in his mid-30s.
#15 - Ndamukong Suh, DT, Buccaneers. Age: 35
Ndamukong Suh may find himself in the Hall of Fame one day, but he's no longer performing like such a player. He's still a decent lineman, but he's not nearly the force he used to be.
#17 - Eddie Goldman, NT, Bears. Age: 28
Eddie Goldman was once a stout run-stuffing nose tackle, but he hasn't been the same since quitting on his team in 2020. Also, Goldman drops lots of gold when defeated.
#18 - Linval Joseph, DT, Chargers. Age: 33

Richie Incognito hasn't played much in the past two years. He was great the last time he took the field, but that was a while ago.

Sheldon Richardson is a quality defensive tackle with no weaknesses, but he is not the same interior force he once was.
