He’ll be in Denver if someone hires Vance as HC

DA is a good DC.

Just never going to be head coaching material.

Agree. And now that he has failed twice, if he is able to get matched up with the right HC/team he could be interviewing for the last time in his career.

He has been good in NOLA over the years as DC but he needs to modernize his defensive scheme a little. The last few years it’s been a little stale. Figure out how to utilize these newish hybrid LB/edge rushers that are smaller and much more athletic.

Couldn't help but notice how the defensive line in his scheme was so quick to just rush up the field and quarterbacks could just step up and have this wide running lane over and over again.

I know it just doesn't happen to the Saints but it sure felt like it happened a lot more than it should.

100%. Would welcome him as a DC any day, but it's clear from his time here and with the Raiders that he just doesn't have what it takes to command an entire team/organization. Nothing wrong with that, he'll still be a highly valuable, highly respected defensive asset who'll never want for a high paying job somewhere. Not a bad life to lead.

Yep. I’d go pair up with a great offensive head coach like Shanahan or McVey. Take the Spagnola route.

What does he need to do to ‘modernize’ his defensive scheme? Be specific

Well he could start with reflecting on why he could not crack the cheat code for players Zack Baun and Kaden Elliss.
