The test replaces the old Wonderlic test.

Byrce Young scored a 98. Will Levis a 93. 80 is considered the minimum score for a QB

quote:

Most NFL fans are likely familiar with the fairly infamous Wonderlic test that was used to assess the mental acuity of players at the combine before the league decided to move on from the somewhat controversial exam in 2022.

It didn’t take long for an alternative to come around and fill that void in the form of the S2 Cognition Test that’s been embraced with open arms by franchises around the NFL due to its supposed ability to weed out players who perform poorly (a high score doesn’t necessarily guarantee success, but the company that designed the evaluation asserts a low score is linked to an inability to thrive at the pro level).

Bob McGinn was able to obtain the scores posted by a number of QBs in this year’s draft class, and while Young (98%) and Levis (93%) were able to hold their own, the same can’t be said for Stroud thanks to the fairly concerning 18% he reportedly posted when everything was said and done.

McGinn spoke with an unnamed NFL exec who summed up the potential fallout of the score by saying:

“The benchmark is 80. Eighty and above is good. Stroud was 18. It’s incredibly terrible. He’s going to be off [some team’s] boards. He will not be picked by those teams.”

Based on the nature of this year’s draft, it’s pretty hard to predict what will ultimately unfold, but Stroud could’ve really cost himself here.

I don't know, but 18 is Sling Blade territory.

The guy who created this test has made the rounds and has said all of these reports are bullshite and teams trying to create smokescreens.

Just take any report about S2 with a grain of salt.

Also, Bryce Young has been tested via S2 since like 8th grade or some crazy shite.

If Stroud actually scored an 18 he won't be drafted.

If someone is reporting he scored an 18 and he scored higher would that not be grounds for a lawsuit? Why would someone make that up if that were the case?

First draft?

Agents and teams feed the media bullshite the entire process to help and hurt guys.

Remember last year teams pumping up Malik Willis? Some media reports that some teams said they had a top-5 grade on him? All bullshite.

Or maybe the most famous one, that Vince Young scored a 5 or 6 on the Wonderlic? Those rumors were so pervasive he had to take it again basically publicly.

GM's/Scouts shouldn't need to see a Wonderlic or S2.

Just reading "Ohio St" next to a prospect's name should scare the shite out a War Room searching for a franchise QB.

The most successful OSU QB had to transfer away from Ryan Day's system to prove himself.

I'm curious at what point that system ends up hurting them in recruiting. It's clearly a good system for CFB, but it doesn't translate to developing QBs for the NFL. Burrow was overtaken by Haskins b/c Haskins was a better fit in the super vertical offense (due to his cannon) and Burrow's FB intelligence was wasted on a simplistic (and rigid) system.

Lots of gimmick systems that helped college QBs still did develop their reading, like the Air Raid. It was just more of a horizontal approach, which can translate. The vertical one, which relies on your OL being much better than opposition, doesn't seem to work.

Probably when an OSU HS QB prospect scores an 80 or above.

Ohio State must have the easiest offensive system in existence because the qbs all thrive in it.
