Then he leaves next year for nothing. RBs are a dime a dozen. Ivory is ridiculously overrated by Saints fans.

Take what you can get. Use the pick and money you save elsewhere.

I wouldn't say ridiculously.

But Saints fans' love for him is partly due to their misplaced hate for Ingram.

Any chance this has Revis implications?

I'd rather the 2nd round pick than Revis and his contract. Plus I'm pretty sure there's absolutely no way we could make room for him unless the Jets took on most of his contract.

We're not getting a second round pick for Ivory.

Go to SR. Come back and report what you see.

There are people in that thread that legit believe getting less than 2nd would be a travesty.

How deep are the Jets at OT. Maybe we swing a player for player trade for added depth and competition at OT

I doubt we get a second as well. A fourth would probably be the best we could possibly hope for if it is a pick for a player deal.

Anything down to a 5th rd'er would be gravy

Not ridiculously overrated by the majority of fans on this site.

Though I'm with you on taking the 6th or 7th for him.

I think a 4th rounder would be an even deal, although you have to keep in mind how in need the Jets are, and it is the Jets so I would imagine we get a 3rd.

The jets new GM is apparently laughable at negotiations. They were offered a kings ransom for revis coming off of a knee injury but they wanted more picks and/or for the bucs to take sanchez and his salary.

They won't get ivory because they will ridiculously low ball the saints.

-pie in the sky hope for a 4th
-a 5th would sit pretty well (it usually does)
-6th seems most likely
-7th is better than nothing, especially having no 7th

can't type that 7th without getting pissed. Not giant, but one of the worst personnel moves in recent years was giving that away. I've wondered if this was another added factor in Spags firing? A 7th for Barrett Ruud wasn't terrible. He later went to Houston and played regularly after Cushing was IRed. If he had skills to that level why was he cut? I don't remember him ever getting any significant snaps after being acquired.

Right, I remember. We had to bring him in because we were awfully thin at LB due to injuries. Then he didn't play hardly at all. Not having Joe Vitt around for the first several games and all of the injuries piling up at that spot really left us suffering for the whole season.

Manish Mehta ?@MMehtaNYDN 23m Jets will make an offer to trade for Saints RFA RB Chris Ivory, per sources. Story: LINK #nyj

I'm expecting a 5th or 6th, which the Saints will be happy to take as it will free up $2m in cap space. That could be money used on a McKinnie or Winston/Clabo @ RT.

And props to the Saints on the move. With our cap situation this season, I wouldn't have taken the risk on giving Ivory the 2nd round tender as he could have quickly signed the tender, which may have turned teams that didn't want to pay him $2m this season off. The risk definitely paid off.
