Charles Brown

supposedly was injured coming out of the draft or early in camp so that slowed him down alot. yeah he needed to bulk up and also needed to learn the playbook more. pretty much a redshirt year for him but we had that luxury with bushrod, stinch and streif all vets who played pretty well last year. this year we'll see what BROWN can do for YOU

Yes coming out of USC, Brown was coming off an injury & light for an offensive lineman. Not only was he light for a lineman, he was inexperienced at tackle. He started out at USC as a tight end, so he was still learning the position.

Payton was said to think highly of Brown because he is aggressive & has a powerful jab with his hands that he uses to knock pass rushers off balance with. Payton said that Brown has quick feet. My guess is that Payton wanted Brown to get bigger & work on his feet work. He's had a year to practice & get better so come training camp, he may beat out Bushrod as the starter.


The team also needs to look for a replacement for Stinchcomb at RT. He's been just as bad or worse then Bushrod. Hopefully Brown provides the team with their LT of the future but we definitely need upgrades at the tackles. Their play was poor all season year long.
