Carr has not been at the Saints facility since the offseason program began, but said he and his wife Heather had planned to fly to New Orleans earlier in the offseason. He said that Heather had been experiencing a health issue and had a miscarriage around the time of their scheduled trip.

Injuries plus the loss of a child. No wonder he's been absent and silent.

(derek and wife) didn't even know they were pregnant at time of miscarriage. its a family situation to deal with for sure but lets not use this as a defense for being a complete prick all offseason. another timely release of info the 2 days after a qb is drafted.

Maybe he figures his personal life isn't anyone's business. The Saints brass have long knew of the shoulder issue. Why didn't they say anything publicly?

Most miscarriages happen in the first trimester. Very sad but very common. Majority of women keep it private. Prayers to DC and his wife.

Neither did they according to Derek

People should pray for he and his family. It is a terrible thing and a hard time

I know this sounds callous, but having an early miscarriage when you don't even know you are pregnant seems much less devastating than a woman who knows. Particularly in a situation like the Carr's who have been able to successfully conceive and birth children.

This has no barring how he’s handled the entire offseason. His request for a trade, not wanting to restructure, the fact that his teammates obviously can’t stand him. Life is bigger than football and i hate this for his wife but, frick Derek Carr. Get the frick out of this city:

Typical over emotional, idiotic Saints fan. Thank you for being so willing to volunteer your self as a shining example

Derek is the worst kind of a-hole, he’s arrogant and only plays nice guy when the mic is on.

Or some of us can separate personal life from business. Carr has bungled his time here, ruined the relationship with his teammates, and isolated himself from the team and the city. His relationship with the team is fractured. His wife’s hardships don’t change that. Nobody wants him here. I’ve been through what he’s going through and it’s really hard on the wife. It just doesn’t excuse Carr from how he’s handled his time here and this offseason.

Been through it as well, and it sucks, but it doesnt excuse the way he has handled everything over the last 3 months.

Jeez. You don’t deserve to root for a winner. I almost hope we suck just to hurt people like you and a lot of the people in NO based on the way they act. Almost.

A winner? Carr is a winner? You deserve to root for this dude. I’m sorry you’re sensitive and can’t separate the story from who he’s actually been here day to day.

We aren’t that. Never will be that with Carr. Sorry you don’t know how to separate and are in your feelings. I hope his wife and him recover from this and find some peace. I also hope he gets the hell out of this city. He’s done this to himself
