Maybe he’s showing concern for people and places where the National Guard can’t be? Like they need more than just the guard. Just a thought.

or, OR. just maybe it's bc Payton has played and worked side by side with black people his whole life and actually respects them as human beings and friends. and he will defend those people without worrying about what other white people think. and won't judge them on the percent that chooses to not protest peacefully.
